The official scheme states that the number of candidates qualifying for Assistant Professor eligibility is limited to 6% of the candidates who appear in both papers, with the qualifying slots distributed among categories according to the applicable reservation policy.

As per the TG SET information available from the official SET documentation, candidates belonging to the General/Unreserved/General-EWS category require at least 55% marks in the Master’s degree, while BC, SC, ST and PwD category candidates require at least 50% marks for eligibility to apply.
These are eligibility requirements for appearing in the test, not the final TG SET 2026 examination cut-off.
