The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET) 2026 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from August 5 to August 16, 2026. The examination will be held in two shifts every day.

Candidates are advised to report to their allotted examination centre at least one hour before the commencement of the exam to complete the verification process smoothly.
Important Instructions for AP TET Candidates
- Candidates whose hall ticket does not display their photograph must carry a valid original Government-issued photo identity proof, such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Bank Passbook, for verification at the examination centre.
- PwD (PHC) candidates who did not opt for a scribe while submitting the online application can obtain permission from the District Educational Officer (DEO) to avail the services of a scribe/assistant as per the prescribed guidelines.
- Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, earphones, and all other electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Candidates found carrying prohibited items may be denied entry or face disqualification.

Latest Update: CPM Seeks AP TET Exemption for In-Service Teachers
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] has urged the Andhra Pradesh Government to exempt in-service teachers appointed before the implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009 from appearing for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
In a statement, CPI(M) State Secretary said it is unfair to make experienced teachers with decades of classroom service qualify through the TET at this stage of their careers. According to the party, nearly 90,000 in-service teachers across Andhra Pradesh could be affected, with many of them approaching retirement.
The party has appealed to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to take up the matter with the Central Government and seek an amendment to Section 23(1) of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, so that teachers appointed before the Act came into force are exempted from the TET requirement.
Note: This is currently a demand made by the CPI(M). As of now, no official exemption has been announced by the Andhra Pradesh Government or the Central Government, and eligible candidates
