CTET 2025 Notification Out: Check Eligibility, Exam Pattern & How to Apply

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), inviting eligible candidates to apply for the upcoming examination. CTET is a national-level eligibility test conducted to determine the eligibility of aspiring teachers for Primary (Classes I–V) and Upper Primary (Classes VI–VIII) levels in schools across India, including government, aided, and private institutions.

As per the notification, the CTET application process must be completed online through the official website. Candidates are required to fill in the application form, upload necessary documents, and pay the prescribed examination fee within the given dates. The exam will consist of Paper I for primary teachers and Paper II for upper primary teachers. Candidates aspiring to teach Classes I–VIII must appear for both papers.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) – February 2026 on 08 February 2026 (Sunday). The CTET is a national-level eligibility test for candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in Central Government schools and other institutions that consider CTET scores.

  • Last Date to Apply Online: 18 December 2025 (till 11:59 PM)
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: 18 December 2025 (till 11:59 PM)
  • Date of Examination: 08 February 2026 (Sunday)
  • Admit Card Availability: To be announced on CTET website
  • Result Declaration: As notified by CBSE.

Eligibility Criteria

As prescribed by NCTE guidelines (minimum educational qualifications for teaching positions).

  • Separate eligibility criteria apply for Paper I (Classes I–V) and Paper II (Classes VI–VIII).
  • Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/Divyang) receive 5% relaxation.
  • Candidates must verify eligibility themselves; CBSE does not confirm eligibility during application.

  1. Visit the official website: https://ctet.nic.in
  2. Click “Apply Online”
  3. Fill Registration & Application Form
  4. Upload scanned Photo (10–100KB, JPG/JPEG) and Signature (3–30KB)
  5. Pay fee online (Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking)
  6. Download and print the Confirmation Page.
