Courses Offered and Seat Matrix for August 2026 Session

AIIMS Mangalagiri is inviting applications for five B.Sc. Allied & Healthcare programmes for this session, with a combined total of 40 seats. The category-wise seat matrix, as published in the official notification, is reproduced below.

Note on seat numbers: The Prospectus & Information Bulletin’s introductory message states that AIIMS Mangalagiri “offers admission to 100 undergraduate seats across 10 Allied Healthcare courses” for the current academic session. However, the detailed seat matrix published in both the notification and the same prospectus lists only 40 seats across the five courses named above. Students are strongly advised to rely on the official seat matrix table (40 seats, 5 courses) for this admission cycle and to check the AIIMS Mangalagiri website directly for any corrigendum, since the broader figure appears to reflect an institute-wide overview statement rather than the specific August 2026 intake.

Course Duration and Structure

Every B.Sc. Allied & Healthcare course at AIIMS Mangalagiri runs for 3 years of academic study plus 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship, making it a 4-year programme in total. A stipend is paid during the internship year as per institute rules. The degree is awarded only after satisfactory completion of the one-year internship at AIIMS Mangalagiri’s hospital and rural health centres. Interns are permitted a total of 15 days of leave across the full internship year.

What Each Course Trains Students For

While this year’s notification does not carry course-wise descriptions, AIIMS Mangalagiri’s past B.Sc. Allied Health notifications and general professional understanding of these disciplines give a sense of what each specialisation involves:

  • B.Sc. Emergency Medical Technology (EMT): Trains students in trauma care, cardiac emergencies, airway management and patient transportation protocols. Graduates typically work in ambulance services, emergency rooms, disaster response teams and paramedic services.
  • B.Sc. Haematology and Transfusion Medicine: Focuses on blood banking technology, apheresis procedures, preparation of modified blood components, immunohematology, HLA typing and cross-matching for organ transplantation. Graduates are employed as blood centre technologists, technical supervisors and quality managers in government and private hospitals.
  • B.Sc. Cardio Vascular Technology: Trains students to assist in diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures such as ECG, echocardiography, cardiac catheterisation and operation of related equipment in cath labs and cardiology departments.
  • B.Sc. CSSD Technology (Central Sterile Supply Department): Focuses on sterilisation, disinfection and supply-chain management of surgical instruments and hospital equipment, a critical infection-control function in every modern hospital.
  • B.Sc. Respiratory Technology: Trains students in pulmonary function testing, ventilator management, oxygen therapy and respiratory care support, particularly relevant in ICUs, pulmonology departments and critical care units.

These are general descriptions of the professional scope of each field and are not verbatim text from the current AIIMS Mangalagiri notification, since course-wise write-ups were not included in this year’s prospectus.

Selection is based purely on merit, determined by NEET UG 2026 percentile scores – there is no separate written test or interview. The merit list will be prepared strictly as per percentile score.

If two or more candidates obtain an equal percentile score, the inter-se merit will be resolved in the following order:

  1. The candidate senior in age will rank senior to the candidate junior in age.
  2. If age is also the same, the candidate with higher aggregate marks in the qualifying (10+2) examination will rank senior.

Seat Allotment Scheme

  • Selection and seat allotment will be made strictly on merit and the order of course preference exercised by each candidate.
  • Candidates not allotted a seat in the initial round will be placed on a waiting list in order of merit.
  • Selected candidates must complete admission formalities within the stipulated time; failure to report within the timeline will result in automatic cancellation of the allotted seat, without further notice.
  • Any seat that falls vacant due to non-reporting, withdrawal or cancellation will be offered to the next eligible candidate on the waiting list, strictly by merit.

Reservation Categories and Certificate Validity

Reservation for EWS, OBC-NCL, SC/ST and PWBD categories follows Government of India norms:

  • EWS: Certificate must be issued in the prescribed format (Annexure-1) by the competent authority, valid only if issued between 1st April 2026 (inclusive) and the closing date of the online application.
  • OBC-NCL: Certificate must be in the prescribed central format (Annexure-2), clearly stating the candidate does not belong to the creamy layer, and must similarly be issued between 1st April 2026 and the application closing date.
  • SC/ST: Certificate must be in the prescribed format (Annexure-3) as per the applicable Presidential Orders for the candidate’s state.
  • PWBD: Certificate must be issued by a duly constituted Medical Board as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, in the format at Annexure-5, clearly mentioning the percentage of disability. AIIMS Mangalagiri’s prospectus lists 16 designated disability certification centres across India, including AIIMS Nagpur, Safdarjung Hospital New Delhi, Madras Medical College Chennai, and others, where such certificates can be obtained.

Documents Required at the Time of Reporting

Selected candidates must report in person and carry the following original documents:

  • Duly filled Joining Form and Acknowledgement for Deposit of Original Certificates
  • NEET (UG) 2026 Admit Card and Score Card
  • 10+2 qualifying marksheet and passing certificate
  • Certificate from the board showing Date of Birth
  • Transfer Certificate from the school/college last attended
  • Migration Certificate from the university/board last attended
  • SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PWBD certificates, as applicable, in the prescribed format
  • OBC-NCL candidates must additionally submit a declaration on Rs. 10/- non-judicial stamp paper
  • Anti-Ragging Undertaking/Affidavit, filled online at https://antiragging.in/affidavit_registration_disclaimer.html, with the reference number noted on the reporting acknowledgement
  • Duly filled Medical Examination form (for evaluation by the Institute’s Medical Board)
  • Hostel Accommodation form, if hostel is required

All original certificates submitted at admission are retained by the institute and returned to the candidate only after completion of the course.

Medical Fitness and Reporting Process

After document verification, all candidates are evaluated by a Medical Board of the Institute. Only candidates found medically fit are issued the admission letter, following which they must complete fee payment and hostel accommodation formalities. Candidates should be prepared to spend more than one day at the institute, as the admission process and medical examination may spill over. Any candidate who wishes to discontinue the course after completing the admission process is liable to pay a compensation amount (currently indicated as being in the range of Rs. 50,000, subject to revision) for losses incurred by the institute due to mid-stream departure.

Academic Rules: Attendance and Internal Assessment

  • Attendance in theory and practical classes is compulsory. Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance in theory and 80% attendance in practicals in each subject individually.
  • Internal assessment carries 50% weightage in theory and 50% in practicals of the total marks per subject.
  • Students must secure at least 50% of the internal assessment marks in a subject to be eligible to appear in that subject’s professional examination.
  • Falling short of the attendance or internal-assessment threshold in any subject results in detention in that subject only, meaning the student cannot appear for the final professional exam in that particular subject until the shortfall is met.

Hostel Accommodation

Hostel accommodation will be provided to B.Sc. Allied & Healthcare students, subject to availability. As per the prospectus, AIIMS Mangalagiri has separate UG Boys’ and UG Girls’ hostel blocks with 250 rooms each, in addition to separate PG hostel blocks. Students seeking accommodation must submit the Hostel Accommodation Form along with an undertaking, after reading the hostel rules and regulations.

Campus Infrastructure

The prospectus outlines a fairly extensive academic and residential infrastructure supporting the AHC programme, including 10 lecture halls (4 in the Medical Lab Block and 6 in the College of Nursing block, each with 100–125 seating capacity), dedicated laboratories for Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology and Forensic Medicine, a central skills lab, and sports facilities including badminton, basketball, volleyball, tennis, cricket and a running track.

Student Exchange Programme

AIIMS Mangalagiri facilitates academic interaction and student exchange activities with AIIMS Bibinagar, offering students exposure to different clinical practices, workshops, seminars, research collaboration and short-term academic visits, subject to institutional guidelines and approvals.

What Happens After the Course: Career Scope and Further Studies

Once a candidate completes the 3-year academic programme and the mandatory 1-year rotatory internship at AIIMS Mangalagiri, the B.Sc. Allied & Healthcare degree is awarded. Broadly, graduates from these Allied Health Sciences disciplines have the following pathways available to them, based on how such qualifications are generally utilised across the Indian healthcare system:

  • Direct employment in government and private hospitals, diagnostic centres, blood banks, cardiac care units, ICUs and emergency departments, in roles specific to their specialisation (such as blood centre technologist, cardiac technologist, respiratory therapist, CSSD technician or emergency medical technician).
  • Government recruitment exams, since many state health departments, AIIMS institutions, and central government hospitals conduct recruitment specifically for allied health professionals with B.Sc. qualifications in these disciplines.
  • Postgraduate studies, such as M.Sc. in the relevant Allied Health specialisation, opening pathways to teaching, research or supervisory roles in paramedical training institutes.
  • Regulatory recognition, since these professions increasingly fall under the ambit of the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP), which is progressively standardising registration, licensing and practice norms for allied health professionals across India – meaning formal registration will likely become a standard next step for practising graduates.
  • Private and corporate healthcare sector roles, given the expanding footprint of corporate hospital chains and diagnostic networks in India that actively recruit allied health graduates for specialised technical roles.

This section reflects a general understanding of career trajectories in these fields rather than AIIMS Mangalagiri-specific placement claims, since the notification and prospectus do not include placement statistics or guarantees.

Anti-Ragging Compliance

All admitted students are required to carefully read the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, and complete the online Anti-Ragging Undertaking/Affidavit at antiragging.in before reporting. This applies to both the student and their parent/guardian.

Important Note on This Admission Cycle

This August 2026 notification covers five specific B.Sc. Allied & Healthcare courses with a combined 40 seats. Candidates should note this differs from AIIMS Mangalagiri’s August 2025 session, when only two courses – B.Sc. Emergency Medical Technology (20 seats) and B.Sc. Hematology & Transfusion Medicine (5 seats) – were offered, for a total of 25 seats. The August 2026 cycle has added B.Sc. Cardio Vascular Technology, B.Sc. CSSD Technology and B.Sc. Respiratory Technology as new offerings, expanding the total intake to 40 seats across five specialisations.

For the most current updates on this admission process, including any corrigendum or extension of dates, keep checking Manabadi regularly. This article will be updated as AIIMS Mangalagiri releases further notices related to merit list declaration, counselling schedule and reporting instructions for the August 2026 session.
