AP goes to SC against NEET today,
Hyderabad, Nov 09: The state government is going to file a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court on Wednesday opposing conducting of Neet (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) for MBBS admissions from 2012 instead of 2013 as was sought by it.
Announcing the same on Tuesday, the state medical and health minister, Dr D.L. Ravindra Reddy, said that Maharashtra had alre-ady filed an SLP opposing the unilateral decision of the Central government re-garding conducting the exa-minations without the consent of state governments. “The SLP filed by the Maharashtra government will be taken up for hearing on November 11. We, too, have decided to file an SLP tomorrow so that both the petitions can be clubbed to-gether,” the minister said. He added that the state had informed the Centre on its willingness to conduct Neet from 2013. He said that he would meet Union hea-lth minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in New Delhi on Wed-nesday and apprise him about the apprehensions of the state in this regard.
