Courses & Eligibility

Several programs are available at undergraduate as well as at post-graduate levels. One can opt for a degree or diploma program in fishery science. Minimum qualification for a degree program at Bachelor level is a pass in 10+2 examination from a recognized Board with physics, chemistry and biology as subjects of study. For post graduate degree/diploma program, one has to hold either a bachelor degree in fisheries or Zoology. Ph. D program is also conducted by few institutes in this field.

Some of the renowned institutions are The Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), (Mumbai) - it possess its branches in other cities like Kolkata, Rohtak and Kakkinada, College of Fisheries, (Kerala), Department of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, (Kerala), Cochin University of Science and Technology (Kochi), Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (Kochi) and School of Applied Life Sciences (Kerala).
