The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal has issued an important notification regarding the collection of tuition fees for students admitted into the MBBS course in medical colleges affiliated with the university. The notification clarifies the method of collecting tuition fees for the MBBS program in accordance with the orders of the Government of Telangana and the guidelines of the Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC).
According to the official communication, the MBBS course duration for fee calculation is considered as 4½ years, which covers the academic period of the program excluding the compulsory internship. The university has instructed all affiliated government and private medical colleges to collect the tuition fee strictly as per the government-approved fee structure and regulations.
The notification clearly states that the total tuition fee for the entire 4½-year course should not be collected in advance or for five years. Instead, the total fee must be divided and collected in five equal instalments, normally at the beginning of each academic year. This system has been introduced to reduce the financial burden on students and ensure transparency in fee collection.
KNRUHS has also observed that some institutions were attempting to collect the full tuition fee for five years, which is not permitted under the government orders. Therefore, the university directed all medical colleges to strictly follow the approved guidelines and ensure that students are charged only for the actual academic duration of 4½ years. Any deviation from these instructions may lead to action by the concerned authorities.
Additionally, the university clarified that if a student is detained or fails in a particular year and continues the course, colleges should not collect additional tuition fees beyond the approved structure since the student would have already paid the prescribed instalments. This rule protects students from paying unnecessary extra fees.
Students admitted into the MBBS course through the counselling process conducted by KNRUHS are advised to carefully follow the official fee payment instructions issued by the university and the allotted medical colleges. Candidates should regularly visit the KNRUHS official website for latest updates, admission notifications, and fee-related instructions.
