JNTUK B.Tech R23 Regulations, Honors & Minors Regulations with Addendum & Amendment
The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) has introduced the B.Tech R23 Regulations to align engineering education with modern industry requirements, academic flexibility, and multidisciplinary learning. These regulations apply to students admitted from the academic year 2023–24 onwards and emphasize outcome-based education, skill development, and continuous assessment.
Under the R23 framework, the curriculum is structured to provide a strong foundation in core engineering subjects while also encouraging innovation and research. The grading system follows a credit-based structure, where students are evaluated through internal assessments, semester-end examinations, and practical performance. The regulations also focus on internships, project-based learning, and industry interaction to enhance employability.
A key highlight of the R23 Regulations is the introduction of Honors and Minors programs. The Honors program allows academically strong students to specialize in an advanced area within their parent branch by completing additional credits. On the other hand, the Minor program enables students to gain knowledge in a different discipline, promoting interdisciplinary skills. These options provide flexibility and help students tailor their academic path according to career goals.
The university has also released Addendum and Amendment provisions to ensure clarity and adaptability in implementation. These updates address curriculum revisions, credit requirements, eligibility criteria for Honors and Minors, and evaluation methods. Such amendments ensure that the regulations remain relevant and responsive to academic and industry needs.
Overall, the JNTUK B.Tech R23 Regulations aim to create a student-centric learning environment that balances theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. By incorporating Honors and Minors along with periodic amendments, JNTUK ensures that its graduates are well-prepared for both higher education and professional careers in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
