The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur) has recently released new guidelines for faculty selections, aiming to improve transparency, quality, and academic standards in the recruitment process across affiliated colleges and university departments.

According to the updated notification, the selection process for teaching positions will now follow a more structured and merit-based evaluation system. Greater emphasis is being placed on academic qualifications, research publications, teaching experience, and performance in interviews. Candidates with strong research backgrounds, especially those with publications in reputed journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, or UGC-approved journals, will be given additional weightage during the selection process.

Another key highlight of the new guidelines is the standardization of interview and evaluation criteria. The university has introduced a uniform scoring system to ensure fairness across all departments. This system reduces subjectivity and ensures that every candidate is assessed on the same parameters.

In addition, the notification encourages digitalization of the recruitment process. Applications, document verification, and preliminary shortlisting may be conducted online to reduce delays and improve efficiency. The university has also emphasized the importance of reservation policies and compliance with government norms while selecting candidates.

The revised faculty selection framework also focuses on improving teaching quality in engineering and technology programs. Candidates are expected to demonstrate updated knowledge of their respective fields, including emerging technologies, practical teaching methodologies, and student engagement techniques.

Officials from JNTUA have stated that these reforms are designed to enhance the overall academic environment and bring the university’s recruitment process in line with national-level standards such as those recommended by AICTE and UGC.

Overall, the new faculty selection guidelines aim to attract highly qualified educators, promote research-oriented teaching, and strengthen the academic reputation of the university and its affiliated institutions.
