JNTUA M.Tech R25 Structural Engineering and Construction Management – Course Structure & Syllabus
The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur introduced the R25 regulations for M.Tech programs from the academic year 2025–26. The M.Tech in Structural Engineering and Construction Management is a two-year postgraduate program designed to provide advanced knowledge in structural analysis, construction planning, project management, and modern engineering practices. The course focuses on developing technical, analytical, and managerial skills required in the construction and infrastructure industries.
The curriculum is divided into four semesters. In the first year, students study core subjects such as Advanced Structural Analysis, Structural Dynamics, Theory of Elasticity, Matrix Analysis of Structures, Construction Planning and Management, and Finite Element Methods. The syllabus also includes electives like Bridge Engineering, Structural Optimization, Earthquake Resistant Design, and Advanced Concrete Technology. Laboratory sessions and software-oriented practicals help students gain hands-on experience with structural design tools and simulation techniques.
The second year mainly focuses on research work, seminars, mini projects, and dissertation activities. Students are encouraged to work on real-time construction and structural engineering problems to improve industry exposure and research capabilities. The program also includes Research Methodology and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to support innovation and technical documentation skills.
The R25 syllabus emphasizes outcome-based education, modern construction technologies, sustainable engineering practices, and advanced structural design methodologies. Graduates of this specialization can pursue careers as Structural Engineers, Construction Managers, Design Engineers, Project Consultants, and Research Professionals in government and private infrastructure sectors. The course also prepares students for higher studies and research opportunities in civil and structural engineering domains.
