The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur introduced the M.Tech R25 Regulations for students admitted from the academic year 2025–26 onwards. Under the Civil Engineering discipline, the university offers the specialization “Construction Planning & Management” with a two-year postgraduate program structured across four semesters under the CBCS pattern.

The M.Tech Construction Planning and Management course is designed to provide advanced knowledge in construction project planning, scheduling, resource management, risk analysis, quality control, and modern construction technologies. The syllabus focuses on developing professional skills required in infrastructure development, project execution, and construction administration.

The course structure generally includes core subjects, professional electives, laboratories, seminars, internships, and project work. Important subjects covered in the syllabus include Construction Project Management, Advanced Construction Techniques, Resource Planning, Cost Management, Contract Management, Project Scheduling, Risk Management, and Infrastructure Planning. Students also gain exposure to software tools such as Primavera, MS Project, BIM technologies, and project estimation tools.

According to the R25 academic regulations, students must complete a minimum of 75 credits for the award of the M.Tech degree. The program includes internal assessments, semester-end examinations, mini projects, and a major dissertation/project during the final year.

The syllabus emphasizes practical learning through case studies, field-oriented projects, and research activities. Topics such as CPM, PERT, Earned Value Analysis, Resource Allocation, and Construction Safety Management are also included to meet industry standards.

Students pursuing this specialization can build careers as Construction Managers, Project Engineers, Planning Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Infrastructure Consultants, and Project Coordinators in both government and private sectors. The program also prepares graduates for research opportunities and higher studies in civil engineering and infrastructure management.
