APKGBV Notification 2026 Released for Admissions
The Andhra Pradesh Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (APKGBV) Notification 2026 has been released for admissions into various classes for the academic year 2026-27. Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) are residential educational institutions established to provide quality education to girls belonging to disadvantaged and marginalized communities, especially in rural and educationally backward areas of Andhra Pradesh.
Under the Samagra Shiksha programme, APKGBVs offer free education along with boarding, lodging, textbooks, uniforms, and other essential facilities. These schools aim to improve girls' access to education and reduce dropout rates among students from economically weaker sections. Eligible girls from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), Minority communities, and Below Poverty Line (BPL) families can apply for admission.
According to the notification, admissions will be conducted based on the availability of seats in Classes VI to Intermediate level, depending on the KGBV campus. Interested candidates must submit their applications within the specified deadline through the prescribed admission process. Applicants are advised to carefully read the eligibility criteria, age requirements, reservation rules, and required documents before applying.
The selection process generally gives preference to orphan girls, children from single-parent families, school dropouts, and girls from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. The government continues to strengthen KGBVs across the state by providing improved infrastructure, digital learning facilities, qualified teaching staff, and academic support programmes.
Students and parents are encouraged to visit the respective district education offices or official education department portals for detailed information regarding admission schedules, application procedures, merit lists, and counseling dates. The APKGBV Notification 2026 presents a valuable opportunity for eligible girl students to receive quality residential education free of cost and build a strong foundation for their future academic and career goals.
