Courses & Eligibility

Age â?? 17 �½ - 21years

Educational Qualifications - SSLC/ Matric with 45% marks in aggregate, and 32% in each subject. No % reqd. if higher qualifications then only pass in Matric.

Physical Requirements - A minimum of 165-170 cms of height depending upon the region from where the candidate belongs with an appropriate weight (48-50kg again depending on the region) and chest of at least 77kg. For details refer to website indianarmy.nic.in

Medical Requirements - A candidate for the post of soldier in the Army should have robust physique and good mental health. Chest should be well developed having minimum 5 Cms expansion. The candidate for the post of soldier in the Army should have normal hearing with each ear and good binocular vision in both eyes. He should be able to read 6/6 in distant vision chart with each eye. The candidate for the post of soldier in the Army should have a colour vision of CP-III and should recognize red and green colours. The candidate for the post of soldier in the Army should have sufficient number of natural healthy gum and teeth i.e. minimum 14 dental points. The candidate for the post of soldier in the Army should not have disease like deformity of bones, hydrocele and varicocle or piles.

Physical Fitness Tests(PFT) -

To determine the Physical Fitness, the following tests carrying 100 marks are held :-

1) 1-Mile Run

2) Pull Ups

3)Balance

4) 9 Feet Ditch

Marking system is as follows :-

(a) 1-Mile Run

Manabadi
1. 5.40 Mins and below 60 Mks
2. 5.41 Mins to 5.50 48 Mks
3. 5.51 Mins to 6 .05 36 Mks
4. 6.06 Mins to 6.20 24 Mks

 

2) Pull Ups

1. 10 and above 40 Mks
2. 9 33 Mks
3. 8 27 Mks
4. 7 21 Mks
5. 6 16 Mks

(c) Balance - Should be qualified and no marks are awarded.

(d) 9 Feet Ditch - Should be qualified and no marks are awarded.

Written Exam Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is conducted on last Sunday of each month for recruitment. It comprises of following paper -

Written Paper - It generally comprises of questions on IQ/Numerical ability, general knowledge and current affairs. Duration of papers is 60 minutes. Total marks 100. Pass Marks 32. N.C.C. â??Câ?? Certificate holders are exempted from written exam.
