Official answer key for the JEE main 2019 has been released online. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE main 2019 answer keys online at jeemain.nic.in. Candidates can challenge the answer key, for which the NTA will host the objection portal till January 17. "The Candidates are required to pay online a sum of Rs. 1000/- (one thousand only) as processing fee for each question challenged. The payment of the processing fee may be made through Debit/ Credit Card/ Net Banking," said NTA. "The processing fee will be refunded if the challenge is found correct," it added. Candidates should note that no challenge will be accepted for scrutiny without the fees. "Evaluation of multiple choice questions of Paper-1 and Paper-2 will be carried out using final answer keys and the raw (actual) marks obtained by a candidate will be considered further for computation of the result of JEE (Main)-2019," said NTA on the JEE main result which is expected on January 31. The result will be based on the final answer key of the exam, which will be decided after considering the objections raised by candidates. A total of 9,41,117 candidates had registered for the JEE main 2019. The second attempt of the exam will be held in April for which NTA will release official notification in February.

JEE Main 2019 will be conducted twice a year from this session i.e., in January and April. Since the exam will be held twice, the registration process will also be open two times a year.

For the January session, the application form of JEE Main 2019 was available from September 1 to 30, 2018. Similarly, for the April session, registrations will open from the February 7 to March 8, 2019.

NTA will release an official answer key for JEE Main 2019 after the entrance examination, which will be conducted in various slots in online mode.

Qualifying for JEE Main Examinations

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
  • Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
  • Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • H.S.C. vocational examination. [Only for Admission to IITs]
  • A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3 yearduration. [Only for Admission to IITs]
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level. [Only for Admission to IITs]
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva. [Only for Admission to IITs]
  • In case the relevant QE is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level. [Only for Admission to IITs]

NTA Score for Paper-1 and Paper-2

Following shall be applicable for both the attempts.
  • Evaluation of multiple choice questions of Paper-1 and Paper-2 will be carried out using final answer keys and the raw (actual) marks obtained by a candidate will be considered further for computation of the result of JEE (Main)-2019.
  • For multi-shift papers, raw marks obtained by the candidates in different shifts/sessions will be converted to NTA Score.
  • The detailed procedure based on NTA Score being adopted is available on NTA’s website.
The result will be compiled on the basis of final answer keys. No grievance with regard to answer key(s) after declaration of result of JEE (Main)-2019 will be entertained.
  • After the JEE (Main)-2019 examinations, the NTA will display Answer Keys & recorded responses of multiple choice questions of Paper-1 and Paper-2 on the NTA’s website www.jeemain.nic.in. The date shall be displayed on the NTA’s website.
  • The candidates, who are not satisfied with the recorded response, may challenge by filling online application form and paying processing charges of Rs.1000/- per question.
  • The challenge of answer keys will also be accepted online only through the link available on the website www.jeemain.nic.in by paying processing charges of Rs.1000/- per question. The fee can be paid by credit/debit card. The fee once paid is non-refundable.
  • The NTA’s decision on the challenges shall be final and no further communication will be entertained.

  3. Click on that link, you will redirect to the JEE Main Key page
  4. Enter your JEE Main Application Number and Password
  5. Click the 'Submit' button
  6. Select your exam mode, date and slot
  7. The answer key of JEE Main will be displayed on the screen

Candidates will also be able to raise objection against the released JEE Main 2019 answer key.

A provisional answer key will be released first, after which objections will be accepted by the authorities for a certain limit of time. After checking all of the objections sent, the final JEE Main answer key 2019 will be published.

Method to Challenge JEE Main 2019 Answer Key

  • The candidates will be able to challenge the answer key of JEE Main 2019 when it is released.
  • A specific period of time will be allotted to the candidates to raise their objections against the provisional answer key.
  • Payment of a certain amount may have to be done to challenge the JEE Main answer key 2019.
  • The decision of the authorities will be considered final.
