The government has decided to conduct practical examinations for intermediate first-year students as well. Until now, practical exams were only conducted in the second year for science streams like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and their marks were included in the finals. Starting this year, changes are being made to the system, and practicals will be conducted for first-year students too.
- The government has decided to conduct annual examinations for MPC, BiPC groups in April itself. Henceforth, practical examinations will be included in the schedule for the first year too.
- For students in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology streams, the practical exam will carry 30 marks. From now on, the theory exam will be for 70 marks, and practical exams will be for 30 marks. For BiPC group subjects like Botany and Zoology, practicals will carry 30 marks each, and the theory exam will carry 120 marks. These structural changes are being implemented from this academic year.
- There is no change in the exams for other streams such as Arts; their exams will continue as before. Students are advised to plan their preparation accordingly.
- For the first time, students in vocational courses will have practical exams in the first year. This applies to those taking Engineering, Commerce, and other vocational streams.
- Examinations will continue as before for vocational courses, and practical’s are being introduced for the first time this year.
- For language subjects, students will have project work as before, and detailed instructions will be released soon by officials.
The intermediate public examinations in the state will begin from February 25. Education Minister announced that CM Revanth Reddy has approved the timetable sent by the Intermediate Board. For the past few years, exams have been held at least 8 days earlier than March 5. All subject exams will be held in the morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
