The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) has revised the schedule for the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2026 for second-year students following the announcement of a holiday in the state for the Holi festival in March 2026. According to the new date sheet, some exams that were previously scheduled for March 3, 2026, will now be held a day later, on March 4, 2026. This change will affect the Mathematics Paper IIA, Botany Paper II, and Political Science Paper II exams. The dates for all other exams remain unchanged.

According to media reports, the state government has recently declared March 3, 2026, as a public holiday for Holi under the general and optional holidays order.

Important Alert for Intermediate Students (TG)

The Telangana Intermediate Board has ended the use of blank bar-code OMR sheets (OMR sheets without barcodes).

New Exam System

From now on, exams will be conducted **only with printed bar-code OMR sheets.

Impact on Students

Students cannot change their medium or second language during the exam.

 Any corrections must be made in the **Nominal Rolls before the end of this month.

Why the Change?

The board implemented this rule because **blank bar-code sheets were causing delays in the results process.

Overview – TG Inter 2nd Year Exams 2026

Every year, the Telangana Intermediate 2nd Year Public Examinations are conducted by TGBIE for students studying in MPC, BiPC, CEC, HEC, MEC, and Vocational streams. These examinations usually take place between February 25th to March 18th, 2026 followed by the results announcement in April or May.

TG Inter 2nd Year Practical Exam Dates 2026

Before the theory exams, the TGBIE will conduct practical examinations for Science and Vocational courses.

• a. The Practical Examinations will be conducted from 02-02-2026 (Monday) to 21-02-2026 (Saturday) (including Sundays) in two sessions i.e., Morning Session from 9.00 A.M to 12.00 Noon and Afternoon Session from 2.00 P.M to 5.00 Ρ.Μ.
• b. English Practical Exams for First Year will be conducted on 21-01-2026 (Wednesday) and for Second Year on 22-01-2026 (Thursday) (If the dates of the Intermediate Practical Examinations 2026 coincide with the JEE-Mains 2026 schedule, the candidates appearing for JEE-Mains will be provided a special provision/alternative arrangement to write the Intermediate Practical examinations accordingly).
• c. The Ethics and Human Values Examination will be conducted on 23-01-2026 (Friday) from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. (one day)
• d. The Environmental Education Examination will be conducted on 24-01-2026 (Saturday) from 10.00 A.M to 1.00 P.M. (one day)

Practical exams will be conducted in two sessions daily:

• Morning Session: 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
• Afternoon Session: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Students must collect their practical hall tickets from their respective colleges before the examination.
