The National Testing Agency, or NTA, and the Central Board of Secondary Education, or CBSE Board Exams 2024, appear to be in a bind due to their respective delays. Many schools are having trouble deciding on exam dates because of the clashing schedule between the JEE Main 2024 January session and the CBSE Class 12 Practical Exams.
Schools were given until January 1st to February 14th, by CBSE, to administer the internal and practical tests for Class 10 and Class 12, respectively. Unfortunately, the board`s delay means that the Class 12 practical exams can only start tomorrow, January 11, 2024. The start of JEE Main 2024 is set for January 24, 2024, and schools are having trouble determining the best dates for students enrolled in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) classes.
JEE Main 2024 Exam Dates:
The JEE Main 2024 January session is slated to run from January 24 to February 2, according to the timetable. Students are unsure about the exam date because the exam city slip has not yet been made public.
NTA is expected to provide the exam city slips by January 14, 2024, in accordance with standard procedure. Details about the exam city center, the exam date, and the time allotted to students would be included in the same.
CBSE 2024 Practical Exam Scheduling Conundrum:
The most recent notification from the CBSE states that schools can start the practical exam on January 11, 2024. Since there is uncertainty surrounding the exact dates of JEE Main, which is scheduled to start on January 24, several students have asked for an earlier exam. Concerns have been raised over the availability of outside examiners for the same.
"We are having trouble deciding on a date for the external examiners of the Chemistry and Physics papers." Students in the science stream of Class 12 will only have their practical exams administered during a window of ten working days. We are unable to hold a practical exam between January 24 and February 2, even if one student is taking the JEE Main, said Ms. Singh, a reputable Delhi school`s class 12 physics instructor.
Teachers can relate to students because we know they are under stress. Board exams and competitive exams are equally significant. For many nervous parents and students, a jumbled schedule just makes matters worse. Right now, the JEE Main schedule delay is the main cause for concern. The practical exams can then be set in accordance with the student`s exam schedule if we are aware of it. We`re all currently waiting to confirm the dates for the practical tests," Ms. Pal stated.
In the meantime, tomorrow is when the CBSE Portal will open for the upload of the results of the practical test. For this reason, many schools were forced to postpone the dates until January 11. The practical or internal test might account for 20 percent to 50 percent of the final CBSE score.
