Reservation and Quota System for NEET:

All India Quota (AIQ): Approximately 15% of the total seats in government medical and dental colleges across India are reserved under the All India Quota. These seats are open to candidates from all states and union territories, irrespective of their domicile.

State Quota: The remaining 85% of seats in government medical and dental colleges are reserved for candidates from the respective states or union territories. Each state/UT may have its own reservation policies and criteria for state quota seats.

Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) Reservations: There are reserved seats for SC, ST, and OBC candidates in both the AIQ and state quota. The percentage of reserved seats for these categories may vary from state to state.

Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): A certain percentage of seats are also reserved for candidates from the EWS category, which was introduced to provide opportunities to economically disadvantaged individuals.

Physically Handicapped (PH) Quota: There is a reservation for PH candidates, and specific seats are reserved to accommodate their needs.

Management Quota: Some private medical and dental colleges have a management quota where a certain number of seats are reserved for direct admission, often at higher fees.
