India Aids Mozambique:

As part of the SAGAR Mission, the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Kesari arrived in Maputo, Mozambique, on December 25 with 500 tonnes of food aid.
 
Highlights:
 
  • 500 tonnes of food aid were delivered to Mozambique to support the government`s efforts to combat the ongoing drought and the covid-19 pandemic.
  • India is also committed to assisting Mozambique`s Armed Forces in their efforts to strengthen their capacity.
  • The INS Kesari also transported two Fast Interceptor Craft and self-defense equipment, which will be handed over to the Mozambican Armed Forces.
  • Aid was extended to Mozambique for the eighth time in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s vision of SAGAR. 
  • It is being carried out in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs and other organisations.
  • These deployments were made in support of India`s maritime neighbours. It also emphasises the significance that India places on these ties.
 
SAGAR
 
  • The SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) Mission was launched in 2015. This mission embodies India`s strategic vision for the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
  • Through this mission, India hopes to strengthen economic and security cooperation with its maritime neighbours while also assisting in the development of its maritime capabilities.
  • India also wishes to safeguard its national interests by ensuring that the IOR is inclusive and collaborative, as required by international law.
  • Mission SAGAR is significant when viewed in conjunction with other Indian policies such as Project Sagarmala, Project Mausam, and the Act East Policy.

Meat Alternatives With 3D Printing:

 
On December 28, SavorEat, an Israeli food tech company, launched a plant-based burger system that is personalised for each customer.
 
Highlights:
 
  • SavorEat was one of the first companies to use 3D printing technology on cooked food.
  • Vegan burgers from companies such as Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat are typically frozen and cooked on a grill later.
  • In contrast, the SavorEat technology is created on-site using a self-contained 3D printer with three cartridges containing oils and other ingredients.
  • Using this technology, customers can also select how much fat and protein they want in each burger.
  • The burger takes approximately six minutes to cook.
  • The protein in these burgers is derived from a blend of potato, chickpea, and pea.
  • In the beginning, burgers will be served at a local burger chain.
  • SavorEat is primarily supported by Israeli institutions. 
  • The Tel Aviv-listed stocks increased by 11% on 28 December.
