The Staff Selection commission, through Combined Higher Secondary level of Examination - CHSL was trying to fulfill the 5134 vacancy posts. There will be three levels in the CHSL examination and the recruitment will be done with these 3 types of exam process.
 
level 1: TIER-1 which is Online Examination – 200 Marks
 
level2: TIER-2 Written Examination or Descriptive Examination – 100 Marks
 
level3: TIER-3 Typing Test – Qualifying Nature (2000 to 2200 words in 15 minutes)

Grade Pay 2400, 1900 selected candidates will get RS 20,000.

Educational Qualification: 

 
Candidates who wish to write the exam should have passed Intermediate (2 years) or any relevant examination conducted by state or central government. 
 
By 10.1.2017 the candidates should finish their course
 
Age Limit: 
 
The min age limit by 10.1.2017 should be 18 years and max age limit should be 27 years. 
 
  • For SC, ST candidates 5 years exemption, For OBC  candidates 6 years exemption and For Physically disabled (phd) candidates 10 years exemption are available. 

  •  For general category – 27 years max age limit

  •  For SC, ST Candidates – 32 years Max age limit

  •  For OBC Candidates – 33 years Max age limit

  •  For phd (physically disabled) Candidates – 37 years Max age limit

Descriptive way of SSC CHSL 2016 2017 Examination Process:

    • The SSC CHSL applying candidates should undergo 3 levels of examinations.  In the first level the candidate should write online examination which is called SSC CHSL TIER – 1 exam. Here the candidate must write online examination. Those candidates who selected with minimum marks are eligible to write descriptive examination which is called SSC CHSL TIER – 2 exam. The TIER -2 exams can be written through general mode like with pen & exam paper. Those candidates who get through from TIER-2 exam are now eligible to write DEST (Data Entry Skill Test) or CPT (Computer professional test) .
    •  The Total Marks for SSC CHSL TIER – 1 exam + SSC CHSL TIER – 2 exam = 300 Marks. Those candidates who seek max marks are eligible for the posts.

Total Marks for TIER-I for CHSl Paper 2016 consist of 200 Marks

Minimum Qualifying mark:

 
Total Questions: 100 Questions
 
The entire examination consists of 100 Questions. The exam carries negative marking. The paper is divided into 4 Categories. Each Category carries 25 Questions. Every Question is multiple choice or objective type of questions. Every right answer carries 2 Marks and for wrong answer 0.5 negative marks. The total time for SSC CHSL TIER – 1 exam is 75 minutes only. 
 
Only Category 2 English Language will be in English medium and remaining all 3 categories will be in English and Hindi medium. So no regional languages like Telugu, Tamil are available.

SSC CHSL TIER – 2 exam pattern (Descriptive Written Examination)

 

 

Total Marks for TIER-II for CHSL Paper 2016 consists of 100 Marks

Time Limit: 60 minutes or 1 hour 

Minimum Qualifying mark : 33% marks

In SSC CHSL TIER 2 exam pattern candidates should write Letter Writing, Essay Writing, Precis writing, Application writing.

Tier-II Paper of CHSL 2016 will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in ‘Pen and Paper Mode

the duration of the paper would be for one hour (20 minutes compensatory time will also be provided to the VH candidates).

The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter / Application writing of approximately 150-200 words. This paper has been introduced to assess the writing skills of the candidates which is necessary in Government jobs. The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 per cent. The performance in Tier II would be included for preparing merit. The paper will have to be written either in Hindi or in English. Part paper written in Hindi and Part in English will not be evaluated. 

 

SSC CHSL TIER – 3 exam pattern (typing test or Data entry Skill test)

Time Limit: 15 minutes 

Speed: 2000 to 2200 words without mistake

The Overall examination will be for 15 minutes. This exam is called Data entry Skill test. The candidates should possess good typing skills which is must for this type of Jobs. No need for any certification in type. In 15 minutes candidates should type 2000 to 2200 words without any mistakes. This exam is qualifying exam only.
