Virat Kohli Becomes First Sportsperson To Top Forbes India Celebrity 100 List:

Virat Kohli Bollywood`s biggest A-listers to top the Forbes India Celebrity 100 List in 2019 become the first sportsperson to do so since its inception eight years ago. The top position with actors before Kohli, who earned Rs 252.72 crore between October 1, 2018, and September 30, 2019. Akshay Kumar rose in the rankings to the second spot with Rs 293.25 crore in the period of consideration, and Salman Khan, at the top of the list since 2016 completed the top three.

Former India captain MS Dhoni and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar make the top 10 in the list at the fifth and ninth positions, respectively. Rohit Sharma broke into the top 10 as well, jumping from the 23rd spot to 11th following a stellar year with the bat across all formats. The men`s cricket team in the list include Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav.

Women cricketers Mithali Raj, Smriti Mandhana, and Harmanpreet Kaur in the top 100 list. Forbes India Celebrity 100 List are shuttlers PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal, wrestler Bajrang Punia, boxer Mary Kom, tennis player Rohan Bopanna, footballer Sunil Chhetri and golfer Anirban Lahiri.

Krish Srikkanth, Anjum Chopra to get CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Awards:

Former India captain member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team Krish Srikkanth will be the recipient of this year’s prestigious CK Nayudu Lifetime Award given by the BCCI. Anjum Chopra is the co-recipient of the lifetime achievement award for the year 2019.

BCCI Annual Award: 

The BCCI Annual Award function held in Mumbai. Srikkanth and Anjum conferred with the Lifetime Achievement award for their contributions to Indian cricket.  Srikkanth is one of the biggest names to have come out of Tamil Nadu cricket stable apart from another former India skipper, S Venkataraghavan and Ravichandran Ashwin. He represented India between 1981 to 1992. Srikkanth appointed captain in 1989 for tough tur of Pakistan where Sachin Tendulkar made his international debut. Srikkanth retired in 1992 after the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand and served as the chairman of the national selection committee. Anum played 127 ODIs in which she scored a hundred and 18 fifties. She played 18 T20 Internationals. She was a part of the Indian XI that played in the Women’s World Cup final against Australia in 2005.

Koneru Humpy won World Rapid Chess title in Russia:

India’s Koneru Humpy defeated China’s Lei Tingjie battle to win the Women’s World Rapid Chess Championship in Moscow. Humpy accumulated nine points tied with Tingjie. Indian lost the opening set before making a speedy recovery in the second round. The championship played under rapid time controls. FIDE holds the Women’s Rapid chess championship.
