Roopun selected as the President of Mauritius:
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Executive Committee approved the India Rankings Society (IRS) to develop and evolve methodologies and systems to rank higher educational institutions. The decision was made at the 127th meeting of the AICTE Executive Committee. The announcement was made by the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal `Nishaank`.
Aim:
The aim of the IRS is to rank the higher educational institutions and based on such methodologies, rank and rate them under various categories, domains, and sub-domain.
NIRF:
Currently, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is used to rank institutes on five different parameters namely:
♦ teaching, learning, and resources
♦ research and professional practice
♦ graduation outcomes
♦ Outreach and Inclusivity
♦ perception
Indian Higher Educational Institutes are ranked by the Indian Ranking 2019, into nine categories namely University, Management, Engineering, College, Law, Architecture, Pharmacy, Medical, and Overall. These rankings are aimed to create an environment of excellence.
