Indian weightlifters impressed again as Sanjita Chanu won gold in Women`s 53 kg and Deepak Lather won bronze in the Men`s 69 kg on the second day of the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. In other sports, the India women`s hockey team, after losing their first match against Wales, bounced back in style to beat Malaysia 4-1 in a Group A match. Gurjit Kaur (6th, 39th minutes), Rani (56th) and Lalremsiami (59th) scored for India. However, India`s campaign in Men`s singles squash event came to an end after Vikram Malhotra lost 1-3 to England`s Nick Matthew in Round-of-16 match. In boxing 91 kg category, Naman Tanwar cruised to a 5-0 victory and advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Tanzania`s Haruna Mhando. The Indian will next be up against Frank Masoe of Samoa.
