About NIT Silchar:
Regional Engineering College (REC), Silchar was renamed to National Institute of Technology, Silchar in 2002. The institute was established in 1967 jointly by Government of India and Government of Assam. The college was conferred with autonomy in financial and administrative matters.
NIT Silchar offers undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, science and humanities.

Educational Qualification:
The minimum qualifications: Ph.D. awarded or Thesis submitted in the area of semiconductor devices OR ME/M.Tech. in relevant area with 3 years of research, teaching and design, and development experience.
