About Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti:
The Navodaya Vidyalaya System provides quality education to talented rural children. Good quality education is available only to well-to-do sections of society, and the poor are left out. Children with special talent or aptitude are given good quality education irrespective of their capacity to pay for it. Such good quality education would enable students from rural areas to compete with their urban counterparts on an equal footing. The National Policy on Education-1986 allowed the setting up of residential schools, to be called Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas that would bring out the best of rural talent. Navodaya Vidyalayas are run by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti which is under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Govt of India.
