About North Eastern Space Applications Centre:
The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology or IITM is a scientific institution based in the country for expanding research in meteorology of the tropics in general with special reference to monsoon meteorology. The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) was founded as the Institute of Tropical Meteorology on 17 November 1962 at Pune as an individual unit of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the main organisation responsible for meteorological observations, weather forecasts, and detecting earthquakes in the country.

Educational Qualification:
Ph.D in Geography/Geology/Disaster Management/Urban Planning/Geoinformatics from recognized University or Institutes with atleast one research paper in any Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal WITH 1st Class M.Sc/M.Tech in Geography/Geology/Disaster Management/Urban Planning/GeoInformatics securing minimum 65% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA with 1st Class in Graduation level.

The application form will be hosted on the NESAC website www.nesac.gov.in. The last date for submission of Online Application Forms is 17.11.2017
and closing time will be 16.00 Hrs. Candidates need to apply through online mode only. While doing an online application, the following documents need to be uploaded:
1. Abstract of the Ph.D. thesis.
2. List of publications.
3. Certificates of all the degrees.
