About Kerala Forest Research Institute:
Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) was established in 1975, in Thrissur, Kerala. KFRI became a part of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) in 2002. The Institute was founded with sole purpose of research in tropical forestry, environment and biodiversity conservation. KFRI campus is located at Peechi, around 20 kms from Thrissur. KFRI has special laboratories for research in Tissue-culture, Clonal Multiplication, Physiology, Wildlife Biology, Soil Science, Biotechnology, Wood Sciences, Biochemistry, Mycology, Entomology, Sylviculture, GIS and RS.
