About Tea Research Association:
The Tocklai Tea Research Institute was established in 1911, at a site near the river Tocklai in Jorhat, Assam. The initial construction of a laboratory and two bungalows was funded by tea industry, subsidized by the national government of India, and the Indian states of Assam and Bengal.
The beginning of a new era of tea research in India was marked by the establishment of the Scientific Department of Indian Tea Association (ITA) in the year 1900. This was consolidated with the creation of the Tocklai Tea Research Institute in 1911. The formation of the Tea Research Association (TRA) in 1964 with Tocklai at the center of all activities further expanded the horizon of tea research to cover the entire Northeast India. Research on all aspects of tea cultivation and processing is carried out at Tocklai Tea Research Institute, Jorhat the oldest and the largest research station of its kind in the world. The present Chairman of TRA is Mr. PK Bezboruah.

Educational Qualification:
Final year students pursuing M.Sc in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Agricultural Chemistry/Chemistry/ Environmental Sciences or equivalent post graduate course.

How to Apply:
The appointments will be purely on a contractual basis and hence the Institute will not provide any employment after completion of the project. Interested candidates may send their application on plain paper together with the copies of mark sheets, certificates, degrees, testimonials, etc. should reach the In-charge, Upper Assam Advisory Centre, Tea Research Association, Dikom-786101, Dibrugarh, Assam on or before 3rd October 2017. Candidates may also apply for their full credentials by email to r.k.baruah@tocklai.net OR t.karak@tocklai.net. Please note that all the applications received within 3rd October 2017 shall be considered for short-listing by a Screening Committee. Only the candidates recommended by the Screening Committee will be called for interview. The decision of the Institute on short-listing will be final and the Institute will not entertain any correspondence in this respect. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
