About Indian Institute of Seed Science:
Agriculture constitutes the lifeline of villages where more than 70% of Indian population lives. To have successful agriculture, quality seed constitute the most important component. Realizing the importance of seed, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research launched the All India Coordinated Research Project on seed theNational Seed Project in 1979. Based on the overall progress and development of the National Seed Project and growing importance of seed in modern agriculture, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research has upgraded the Project Coordinator Unit of National Seed Project to the status of the Project Directorate in X Plan named asDirectorate of Seed Research. Directorate of Seed Research started operating since 31 December 2004 from Kushmaur village in the district Maunath Bhanjan, UP. The institute is about 120 km towards North-East of the Holy City of Varanasi, UP, India.

Educational Qualification:
Ph.D in any discipline of Agricultural/Life Sciences. Or Master degree/M.Tech in any branch of Agricultural Sciences/Biotechnology/ Life Sciences/ Molecular Biology with 4/5 years Bachelor`s degree in the above subjects having First Division or 60 % marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least 2 years of research experience as evidence from Fellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other engagements. Or Three (03) years Bachelor degree and 2 years of Master degree in the above subjects having First Division or 60 % marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with NET and at least 2 years of research experience as evidence from Fellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other engagements. Desirable Qualification (i) Diploma in IPR/Two Year’s experience in IP management. Experience on patent search assessment, formulation, filing, drafting of patents/IPRs, development of feasibility report in the commercialization of technologies, genomics, and biological databases. (ii) Knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Laws along with Protection and commercialization of technologies, work experience in Patent Search Operation and filing. (iii) Patent Agent. (iv) Proficiency in computer operation.
