About NIIH:
This centre which was started by ICMR basically to solve problems in blood banking, slowly branched out successfully to initiate research in various other related areas of immunohaematology viz. biochemical genetics , red cell enzymopathies and hemoglobinopathies , population genetics, antenatal serology, Immunology, HLA etc. In the first twenty five years, using limited space, limited resources and budget, talented and highly enthusiastic young scientists from the center under the guidance of dynamic stalwarts Dr. H M Bhatia and Dr. A J Baxi could produce as many as 271 publications of which 71 were published in prestigious international journals. The centre had many discoveries to it`s credit. Seeing this progress, ICMR decided to rechristen BGRC as `Institute of Immunohaematolgy` at the time of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Institute in 1982 to accommodate all the departments of the centre under one roof .

Educational Qualification:
Graduate in Life Science/ Microbiology/Genetics/Molecular Biotechnology/ Biochemistry from a recognized university with three years work experience from a recognized Institution or master’s degree in the relevant subject. Desirable Qualification : Experience in Haemostasis Thrombosis.

How to apply:
Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria are requested to fill their application form downloadable from NIIH website http://www.niih.org.in and ICMR website http://www.icmr.nic.in with his/her own handwriting. Applications will be received between 9.00 A.M. to 10.00 A.M. by hand on 19.07.2017 at National Institute of Immunohematology, 13th Floor, New Multi-storeyed Bldg., KEM Hospital Campus, Parel, Mumbai 400012. The Candidates are also required to submit a soft copy of the filled excel sheet format to estniih1310@gmail.com by 17.07.2017 as prior information of attending test/interview. Candidates must report to the Centre on 19.07.2017 by 9.00 AM with all original documents in support of age, qualification, experience, and category (if applicable) along with self-attested photocopies and two recent passport size photographs. Written test/Interview will be conducted for the above posts from 10.30 am onwards.
