1) Smriti Mehra clinches maiden Women’s PGT title
  • Indian golfer from Kolkata, Smriti Mehra played clinched her maiden Hero womens Professional Golf Tour title with a total score of 208 after 54 holes at the Palms Golf Club and Resort in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on November 27, 2016.
  • Delhi’s golfer Vani Kapoor with 214 points and Gursimar Badwal with 215 points placed second and third position respectively.
2) Nico Rosberg wins F1 title as Lewis Hamilton wins the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
  • F1 titlei. Lewis Hamilton win his 53rd Grand Prix title , while Rosberg, Sebastian, Verstappen claims the second, third and fourth position respectively on November 27, 2016 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  • After Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Nico Rosberg win the Formula One championship with 385 points (9 wins) and Hamilton hold the second position with 380 points(10 wins)
  • Rosberg become Germany’s third champion after Graham Hill and Briton Damon Hill

4) Aditi Ashok wins inaugural Qatar Ladies Open
  • Indian teen golfer Aditi Ashok defeated Nanna Koerstz Madsen to win the inaugural Qatar Ladies Open in Doha, Qatar on November 26, 2016. It is her second successive victory on the Ladies European Tour.
  • She cliched her maiden win at the Hero Women’s Indian Open earlier this week.

5) UP IAS officer Suhas LY wins gold in Asian Para-Badminton Championships
  • UP IAS officer Suhas LY wins gold in Asian Para-Badminton Championshipsi. IAS officer Suhas LY from Uttar Pradesh cliched gold medal after defeating Indonesian player Harry Susanto in the Asian Para-Badminton Championships in Beijing, China
  • Suhas defeated Wang Hwan Sing of Korea in the semifinals.
  • He is posted as the Azamgarh district magistrate, got a wildcard entry to the championships and ensured his seat in the finals by winning six consecutive matches.
6) Argenitna win their first ever Davis cup
  • Argentina defeated Croatia to win their first ever maiden Davis Cup tennis title in Zagreb, Croatia on November 28, 2016
  • Del Potro and Federico Delbonis are layed a remarkable play to win the title.
  • Argentina had lost in the final of the tournament four times earlier while Croatia won the title in 2005.

7) Indian team wins silver in World Robot Olympiad
  • Out of 450 teams, team “High Voltage” from India (Gurugram) won a silver in the Regular Junior High category in the 13th World Robot Olympiad (WRO) that concluded at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.
  • The two-day international championship, jointly organised by National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and India STEM Foundation (ISF), was based on the theme “Rap the Scrap”.
  • Over 2,000 students from over 50 countries showcased innovative solutions using robotics technology to reduce, manage and recycle waste.
8) India beat Malaysia to finish third in Four Nations Hockey tournament
  • Indian Hockey team defeated Malaysia 4-1 in the third-place playoff match to secure bronze in the 4 Nations Tournament in Melbourne.
  • Akashdeep, captain VR Raghunath, Talwinder Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh scored goals for the country.



9) Pankaj Advani claims bronze medal at IBSF World Snooker Championship
  • Fifteen-time world champion Pankaj Advani suffered a 2-7 loss in the semifinals against pankaj-advani-1414216469Andrew Pagett of Wales to settle for a bronze medal at the IBSF World Snooker Championship
  • He is the only player in the world to compete at the world championship level in both sports and be successful in all the formats of both billiards and snooker.

10) IAAF launches online portal to report doping
  • International Association of Athletics Federations has launched an online portal for reporting suspicions of doping.
  • The secure portal on its home page is available in six languages and offers full confidentiality.
  • Information submitted and transmitted via secure networks and is completely anonymous.
11) Kohli continues surge towards top with career-best third rank in Tests
  • Virat Kohli has moved up to a career-best third spot in the latest MRF Tyres ICC Player Rankings for Test Batsmen after coming up with a useful contribution in his team’s eight-wicket win over England in the third Test in Mohali.
  • He scored 62 and six not out to move to 833 points, within 14 points of England’s Joe Root in a list led by Australia captain Steve Smith.
  • Starting the series in 15th position, Kohli has risen at a fast pace scoring 405 runs in the three Tests against England.

12) Hashim Mansoor of Kashmir won Asian Youth Karate Championships
  • Seven-year-old Hashim Mansoor from Kashmir’s Bandipora district has won a gold medal at the Asian Youth Karate Championships, being held at New Delhi.Hashim Mansoor of Kashmir won Asian Youth Karate Championships
  • He clinched the gold in the three day championship in the sub-junior category (below 25kg) after defeating his competitors from Bhutan and Malaysia in the first two rounds and his Sri Lankan opponent in the final on November 29, 2016.
  • Mansoor, after this win has now qualified for the World Championship, to be held next year in September. Hashim Mansoor credited his victory to the hard work of his coach Fasil Ali Dar.
  • Participants from 19 countries took part in the tournament organised by the All India Youth Karate Federation.
  • Earlier, eight-year-old Tajamul Islam had become India’s first player to clinch a gold in the sub-junior category at the World Kick-boxing Championships.
  • The Asian Karate Championships are the highest level of competition for sport karate in Asia. The competition is held in a different country every two years organized by the Asian Karatedo Federation(AKF) under the supervision of World Karate Federation.
