1) Govt plans to build memorial for SantKabir in UP.

  • The government is planning to build a memorial for Sant Kabir in Uttar Pradesh, in an attempt to woo a large number of followers of the mystic poet ahead of Assembly elections in the state.
  • The memorial may be set up either at Kabir Churaha in Varanasi or Maghar where the body of the Sant rests.
  • The government plans to compile the literature associated with Kabir and his dohas to make them available to the public both in physical or digital form.

2) Every Family In Karnataka Inchal Village Has At Least 1 Teacher.

  • Karnataka`s Inchal village,in Belagavi district with a population of about 6,000, reportedly has at least one teacher in every house, with the highest number being 13 for one family.
  • These teachers work in government-aided institutions as well as non-aided ones. The village, which considers teaching as the `most noble` profession, reportedly has over 600 people who have opted to be teachers.

3) Patanjali launches mega food park at Nagpur industrial hub.

  • Yoga guru Ramdev-promoted Patanjali Ayurveda launched its mega food park on a 230-acre land at an industrial hub in Nagpur and promising to employ 10,000 people and engage 50,000 farmers of the region in trade.
  • The foundation stone for the FMCG Company Park in Mihan (Nagpur) was laid by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devandra Fadnavis and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.

4) Cabinet approves signing of the Extradition Treaty between India and Afghanistan.

  • Cabinet approves Cadre Review of Group `A` Executive Officers of Border Security Force.
  • Cabinet approves extension of contract between India and the International Seabed Authority for exploration of Polymetallic Nodules.
  • Cabinet approves Bilateral Technical Arrangement between India and Switzerland on the identification and return of Swiss and Indian Nationals.
  • Cabinet approves Exchange of Tariff concessions under the Fourth Round of Negotiations APTA.
  • Cabinet approves establishment of Higher Education Financing Agency for creating capital assets in higher educational institutions.

5) Govt launches toll-free number for postal complaints.

  • The government launched toll free number 1924 to register postal complaints, over a month after introducing Twitter Sewa for redressal of telecom and postal grievances. 
  • The service will be operational initially for 12 hours on working days between 0800 hrs to 2000 hrs. 
  • The service has been started initially in three languages - Hindi, English and Malayalam.

6) HP, Singapore sign MoU for smart integrated township.

  • Himachal Pradesh government signed a preliminary Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore government for developing a smart integrated township in Jathiadevi near Shimla airport. 
  • Development of a smart integrated township near the state capital was an ambitious project of the government which would go a long way in decongesting the highly populated city. 
  • Which was initially developed for 25 thousand people only, resulting in congestion and over utilisation of infrastructure and it was high time for development of a smart integrated township outside the city with a state-of-the-art social, physical, institutional and economic infrastructure.

7) Committee to identify people below the poverty line (BPL).

  • A task force headed by NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Arvind Panagariya to prepare a road map for elimination of poverty has submitted its report to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and suggested setting up of a committee to identify people below the poverty line (BPL).

8) Arunachal Pradesh’s first Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Store inaugurated by MoS Shri Mansukh Mandaviya.

  • The Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Shri Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated Arunachal Pradesh’s first Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Store at Naharlagun, Itanagar.
  • The Government of India is committed to development of the Border States.
  • Making quality medicines available at affordable prices has been a key challenge for the Government. The prices of branded medicines are much higher than generic medicines in the market due to various reasons.

9) Uttrakhand CM launches dengue awareness campaign.

  • Chief Minister Harish Rawat launched dengue awareness campaign in the state.
  • People to keep flushing water containers and tanks close to where they live on a regular basis.
  • A number of fogging machines have been pressed into operation in various areas of the city besides increasing the number of beds at the Doon Hospital.

10) Direct Selling Guidelines 2016 framework by Ram Vilas Paswan. 

  • The Centre released model guidelines on direct selling, which among other things prohibit such companies from charging any entry/ registration fee from, or forcing suppliers to buy back unsold stock. 
  • It has also barred e-commerce firms from selling products without approval from direct selling firms.
  • The major companies operating in this unregulated sector in India are Amway, Oriflame and Tupperware.

11) Raman Singh launches `Start Up Chhattisgarh` project.

  • Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh announced plans to promote a startup culture offering several incentives for startup entrepreneurs.
  • The youth need to be fearless to bring their ideas into commercial products. To make `Start-up Chhattisgarh` a grand success, the state government would extend full support to develop the enabling ecosystem for start ups in the state.

12) MP, Maharashtra, Jharkhand CMs meet over GaribKalyan Agenda. 

  • Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a discussion on finer points to be included in BJP’s Garib Kalyan Agenda with his Maharashtra and Jharkhand counterparts.
  • The task of studying them and bringing parity among them so that the development of the poor happens in its real sense.
  • The basic aim of the agenda is to ensure that the poor gets food, cloth and house and their earnings increase and they become self-dependent.

13) Agriculture museum inaugurated in Chhattisgarh.

  • An agriculture museum will be inaugurated at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) and it is touted as the first of its kind in any agriculture university in the country.
  • It is the country’s biggest modern agriculture museum set up in an agriculture university.
  • Set up at a cost of Rs. 4.92 crore, the museum aims to provide information about special agricultural techniques, agriculture-related problems and their solution, villagers’ lifestyles.

14) `Swachh Bharat Abhiyan` mascot made Kunwar Bai.

  • Chhattisgarh`s Kunwar Bai maybe well over the age of 100, but her zeal for a better life has not dimmed down. The 105-year-old, determined to stop the ritual of open defecation in her family, sold off some eight to ten of her goats to build toilets in the house.
  • She has not only been felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself, but also picked as the mascot for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

15) Nitish launches website on 350th Prakash Utsav.

  • Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched a website to provide information on the celebration of 350th Prakash Utsav of the Sikh guru.
  • The website has been developed by tourism department and provides information to visitors about how to reach Patna and where to stay during the function. 
  • Kumar also flagged off a tourism department vehicle for publicity of Prakash utsav. 

16) Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Signed a MoU to Promote Organic Farming on the Banks of River Ganga.

  • The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare today here signed a MoU with Ministry of Water Resources, Water Development and Ganga Rejuvenation to promote organic farming on the banks of river Ganga. 
  • According to this agreement, villagers situated on the banks of river Ganga will be encouraged for organic farming.

17) Government aims to make automobiles manufacturing the main driver of `Make in India` initiative.

  • Government of India aims to make automobiles manufacturing the main driver of ‘Make in India’ initiative, as it expects passenger vehicles market to reach 9.4 million units by 2026, as highlighted in the Auto Mission Plan (AMP) 2016-26. Addressing a CII International Automotive Design Conclave 2016 in New Delhi.
  • Government has formulated a Scheme for Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles in India, under the National Electric Mobility Mission 2020 to encourage the progressive induction of reliable, affordable and efficient electric and hybrid vehicles in the country.

18) e-Office Management systems helped to speed up the administrative system.

  • The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, Government of India has organised a two-day Regional Conference on `Path Breaking and High Impact Initiatives in Citizen Centric Services Delivery System` in Guwahati, Assam.
  • How e-Office and Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) have benefited for the citizen centric governance and Government employees.
  • National Information Centre made a presentation on e-Office and opined that Personal Information Management System, File Management Systems, Property Return Information System Management and other e-Office management systems help to speed up the administrative system.

19) Ministry of Tourism Approves Projects of Rs. 500 crore for Jammu & Kashmir.

  • The Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) chaired by Union Tourism Secretary Shri Vinod Zutshi for the `Swadesh Darshan Scheme` has approved projects to the tune of Rs. 500 crore as part of Development Package of Prime Minister Reconstruction Plan (PMRP) for integrated development of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • The projects envisage tourist infrastructural development in Jammu and Kashmir. Highlights of the project involve developing a Convention Centre in Gulmarg and Patnitop, development of Ethnic Villages, Development of Water Sports Centre at Baghliyar Dam - Pool Doda.

20) Govt introduces bullet-proof army vehicles in Kashmir. 

  • The government has introduced an all new armoured personnel carrier in Jammu and Kashmir where stone-pelting has reared its ugly head as a new form of attack by a few wayward Kashmiri youth.
  • In violence-hit Kashmir, where stone-pelting incidents are reported on a regular basis, Panthera-T6 armoured vehicle will prove its mettle as a saviour. The state-of-the-art combat vehicle will also protect our forces from marauding terror attacks.

21) Centre bans sharing of Aadhaar details.

  • Aadhaar number of an individual will not be allowed to publish or post the information publicly and will have to ensure security and confidentiality of the 12-digit identification number under the Aadhaar Act.
  • The recently notified regulations, these agencies have also been mandated to inform Aadhaar holders the purpose for which their details will be used. As per the rules, the biometric information cannot be shared with anyone for any reason whatsoever.

22) Mormugao - Second Ship of Project 15B Launched at Mazagaon Docks Mumbai.

  • The Indigenous Warship design and construction programme of India was achieved with the launch of Guided Missile Destroyer, Mormugao, second ship of Project 15B, on 17 Sep 16, at Mazagaon Dock Ship Builders Limited (MDL), Mumbai.
  • The Indian Navy stands fully committed to the call of `Make in India` and we are extremely proud of the fact that all of our warships and submarines on order are being constructed within the country.

23) Shri Suresh Prabhu, Launches Nine-Day Long ``Swachhta Saptah`` At New Delhi. 

  • Hon’ble Minister for Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu launched Swachhta Saptah under the Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat Mission from New Delhi Railway Station.
  • In order to spread wider awareness on sanitation and cleanliness in rail premises and make hygiene a habit amongst the travelling public.

24) Prime Minister Distributes Assistive Devices and Aids To More Than 11000 Divyangjans In Samajik Adhikarita Camp At Navsari, Gujarat.

  • The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi distributed Aids and Assistive Devices to more than 11000 Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjans) at Samajik Adikarita Shivir organized by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), in District- Navsari, Gujarat.
  • The Camp, 3 Guinness World Records were created jointly by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) and ALIMCO. 
  • First record got broken with highest number of oil lamps lit simultaneously at single location. 
  • Second record world record Most people fitted with Hearing Aid in 8 hours – Single location (600 Hearing Aid)` and Biggest Wheelchair Logo/ Image with the help of 1000 Wheelchairs got announced which make the event historical.

25) All India Radio Launches Balochi Website, Mobile App.

  • All India Radio launched a multimedia website and app of its Balochi radio service. The short wave radio service in Balochi has been functional since 1974 and reaches several parts of Pakistan with a one hour capsule every day that contains news, news commentary and cultural programmes. 
  • All India Radio which will monitor response and feedback to content being broadcast by All India Radio in foreign countries.

26) Water Resources Ministry signs MoU with Agriculture Ministry to take up organic farming.

  • The Union Water Resources Ministry signed a MoU with the Agriculture Ministry, to encourage farmers of over 5,000 villages along the Ganga to take up organic farming, which will help curb pollution caused by chemical fertiliser-laden runoff in the river.
  • It also will provide training on Integrated Nutrient Management and micro-irrigation techniques. The government aims to promote organic farming through various means like awareness programmes, self-help groups, providing information through mobile apps.

27) Govt to expand Direct Benefit Transfer to 147 schemes. 

  • The initial success of Direct Benefit Transfer, government plans to double the number of schemes under DBT to 147 by March and has launched pilots for paying subsidy on food, kerosene and fertiliser directly via bank accounts of beneficiaries.
  • Benefits and subsidies in as many as 74 schemes of 17 government departments and ministries are paid directly to beneficiaries under DBT.

28) India approves $1 billion connetivity project.

  • India has approved an ambitious $1.04 billion project for constructing and upgrading 558 km of roads to link it with Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal and ease the movement of passengers and cargo, as part of the larger effort to increase inter-regional trade by 60 per cent. 
  • The new project has been given an official nod by India`s Department of Economic Affairs with 50 per cent funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

29) Haryana to be developed as capital of Ayurveda.

  • The Haryana would be developed as the capital of Ayurveda and Yoga. With a view to achieving this target, the state government has already passed the proposal for setting up AYUSH University in Kurukshetra.
  • The Haryana health minister Anil Vij inaugurated development projects worth Rs. 1.93 crore in Ambala Cantonment.

30) Govt to set INR Rs. 4,000 crore overhaul of 80 check posts for GST.

  • Road Transport and Highways Ministry is considering Rs. 4,000 crore overhaul of around 80 border check posts across the country to ensure seamless flow of goods ahead of the implementation of GST. 
  • An app to link check posts under state governments as well as the Centre is also in the works. 
  • The Ministry would be one of the the biggest contributors towards the GST regime.

31) Govt appointed panel recommends for MSP of gram to Rs. 4,000 a quintal.

  • A government panel has called for procurement of pulses on "war footing" as prices decline, and suggested better incentives for farmers in the form of higher minimum support price combined with effective procurement to increase domestic availability and prevent price spikes. 
  • The Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian-headed panel recommended immediate measures including increase in MSP of gram to Rs. 4,000 a quintal for rabi 2016 and Rs. 6,000 a quintal for both urad and tur for kharif season 2017. 
  • It recommended a buffer stock of 2 million tonnes, pushing states to delist pulses from the mandi law and encouraging development of indigenous GM technologies.
