1) Mukund Choudhari assumes charge as CMD of MOIL.

  • Mukund Chaudhari took over as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of MOIL Ltd, a miniratna company.
  • Prior to taking over as CMD, Chaudhari served as the Director (Finance) of MOIL.
  • He was inducted in the Board of Directors of MOIL in August 2012 as Director (Finance).
2) Punit Goenka is new IBF chief.
  • Punit Goenka, MD & CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, has been elected as the Indian Broadcasting Foundation’s President.
  • In the 17th AGM of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation, the board also elected Rajat Sharma (Chairman, India TV), N.P. Singh (CEO, Sony Pictures Network), Sudhanshu Vats (Group CEO, Viacom 18), K. Madhavan (MD, Asianet Communications) as Vice-Presidents; and K.V.L. Narayan Rao (Executive Vice-Chairperson, NDTV) as the Treasurer of the Foundation for a year.

3) Bangladesh executes Jamaat leader Mir Quasem Ali.

  • In Bangladesh, Jamaat-e-Islami leader and media tycoon, Mir Quasem Ali was executed for war crimes committed during the country`s 1971 Liberation War.
  • Ali, widely considered as the top financier of the Jamaat, was hanged at the high-security Kashimpur Central Jail in the outskirts of Dhaka.
  • The execution came after he refused to seek presidential clemency.
4) Abhinav Bindra announces retirement from Shooting.
  • Abhinav Bindra, India`s lone individual Olympic gold medallist, officially announced his retirement from shooting.
  • He announced his retirement after playing for almost two decades. In Rio Olympics 2016, Bindra nearly missed a second Olympic medal by a whisker and came fourth.
  • Presently, he is the Chairman of a review committee formulated by the NRAI to examine and identify in a cold and ruthless manner the reason as to why shooting failed to secure any medal at Rio Olympic Games.

5) KalanithiMaran Top Paid Indian Exec At 71.47 crore.

  • Kalanithi Maran, Chairman & MD of Sun Group, was the highest paid executive in India in 2015-16 with a salary of Rs. 71.47 crore.
  • Maran`s wife Kavery Kalanithi retained the second spot with a salary of Rs. 71.46 crore.
6) Arunachal Pradesh Tourism appointed John Abraham as a brand ambassador.
  • John Abraham has been roped in as a brand ambassador for Arunachal Pradesh Tourism.
  • Representing the state as a brand ambassador, he is of the opinion that the state has lot to offer to its tourist be it culture, heritage, adventure sports and music.
7) C.K. Asnani assumes charge as CMD of Uranium Corporation of India Limited.
  • C.K. Asnani assumed charge as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL), an undertaking of the Department of Atomic Energy.
  • Asnani is a Chemical Engineer from Osmania University. He was the Director (Technical) of Indian Rare Earths Limited, Mumbai before the present assignment.
  • Asnani was earlier associated with Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad.
