Frequently aseked questions for UPSC NDA Interview -2014

The UPSC NDA Interview 2014 is an integral part of getting selected into the NDA. How well you do in it will finally determine whether you get selected or not. The following are a few of the questions that are likely to be asked in your interview. You do not have to learn the answers verbatim, just understand the flow of thought. Remember, rote shall not help in the long run.

Q. Why is it that you want to join Defence Forces?

Answer: Well, we are hoping that you genuinely do want to join the defence forces and hence have taken this line. In which case you shall answer that you are patriotic, have an affinity for jets, submarines, arms, the love and pride for wearing that special uniform- whatever you actually find interesting about the defence forces.

 Q. How will you react if you do not get recommended this time?

Answer: A sensible answer would be to say that you shall try again next time. However, the interviewer could offer a counter argument here and say what happens if you do not make it into the force? At this point of time you have to show your dedication and say that you shall work harder and surely make it next time, as this is what you really want to do.

Q. Did you do any special preparation for SSB?

Answer: Tell the interviewer the various sources from where you prepared for the exam and how you went about it. You can tell them that you read books, magazines, newspapers and online to further your general knowledge and views. You need to make them realize you truly have worked hard for this day.

Some of the other questions that you could be asked during your NDA interview are:

What is the meaning of your name? What are some of the other names that have a meaning similar to your name?

What is your mother tongue?

What are the other languages that you know? What is your view on your mother tongue over the national language? (This is if you have mentioned some other language other than Hindi)

What do you and your friends do in your free time?
