About XAT Exam:

XLRI Jamshedpur was founded in 1949 by Fr Quinn Enright, S.J. in the Steel City of Jamshedpur and since then is considered to be amongst the most prestigious institutes for management education in India. Xavier Admission Test, popularly known as XAT, is an all India level management entrance test conducted to select the most appropriate students for management education. Apart from XLRI, there are 60 other Management Institutes (please check xat website for latest info) who are selecting students on the basis of from XAT. XAT 2009 is being conducted for admission to the following programs:

* Two Year Post Graduate Program in B M and in P M & I R
* One year General Management Program
* Four year Fellow Program in Management

XAT (XLRI Admissions Test) is the second most popular management entrance exam in India after CAT.

Exam Pattern For XAT:

XAT is an objective paper consisting of multiple-choice questions. There are four alternative answers for each question. One mark is awarded for each correct answer and 1/3 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. The duration of the test paper is 2 hours and there is an essay paper of 20 minutes.

The objective paper comprises three sections: (1) Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability (2) Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Data Interpretation (3) General Awareness.

How to Apply:

Candidates can collect their XAT bulletin and prospectus from the selected branches of Axis Bank. It can also be obtained from the XAT office or online.

To register for XAT, candidates have to fill the XAT Form that is available online at www.xlri.edu. Once the candidate logs on to this site, a full set of instructions will appear and following them, the candidate can obtain his/her ID and password.

This ID and password are to be indicated for all the future correspondence with XAT Office, Jamshedpur. For writing the XAT, the candidates should select their convenient cities from the list of city-choices available on the web site. www.xlri.edu; www.xlri.ac.in.
