Eligibility criteria for JEE Main:

The eligibility criteria for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in India, may vary slightly from year to year. Below are the general eligibility criteria based on my last knowledge update in September 2021. It`s crucial to verify the latest eligibility criteria on the official JEE Main website or from the official information brochure for the specific year you plan to appear for the exam:
Age Limit:

For the B.E./B.Tech courses: Candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 1997. There is a relaxation in the age limit for SC/ST/PwD candidates, i.e., they must have been born on or after October 1, 1992.

Number of Attempts:

Candidates can attempt JEE Main for a maximum of three consecutive years starting from the year they pass their 12th standard examination.

Academic Qualification:

Candidates must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2019, 2020, or 2021, or they should be appearing for it in 2022.
Qualifying subjects: Candidates must have studied a combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) in their 10+2 or equivalent examination.
Minimum Marks: The minimum marks or percentage required in 10+2 or equivalent may vary depending on the institute and category. Typically, candidates need to score at least 75% (65% for SC/ST) in their qualifying examination.
