IISER Application Form 2025 will be released on iiseradmission.in tentatively in April 2025, following the release of the IISER Entrance Exam 2025 notification by the testing body, which is anticipated to happen in the first week of March 2025. Candidates should note that the portal for IISER Application Form 2025 will be released on the official website. In order to appear for the exam, candidates need to fill the IISER Application Form 2025. When the IISER Application Form 2025 is released, a direct link to fill the same will be provided below.

IISER Aptitude Test 2025

Those seeking admission to the 5-year BS-MS and 4-year BS dual degree programmes offered at participating IISER institutes, IIT Madras and IISc Bangalore, must complete and submit the application form before the deadline. Before filling the application form, students are advised to carefully go through the IAT 2025 eligibility criteria to ensure that they are not disqualified at any point of time during the IISER admission process. Before filling the application form, candidates must register for the IAT 2025, which will be entirely online.

Candidates who successfully submit the application form for IISER 2025 will be awarded the IISER 2025 hall ticket. Admission to IISERs is done exclusively through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). IISER Aptitude Test 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The IISER Eligibility Criteria 2025 will be released by the authority on the official website iiseradmission.in. Candidates will be able to check the detailed IISER Eligibility Criteria 2025 through the information brochure. Aspirants must check the eligibility criteria before starting to fill the IISER application form to avoid cancellation of candidature due to ineligibility. Since the IISER Eligibility Criteria 2025 is not released yet, candidates can check the IISER Eligibility Criteria as per the previous year notification below.

  1. Only IAT 2025 scores will be considered for admissions to IISERs
  2. Applicants who have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination in the science stream in 2023, 2024, or 2025, with a minimum of 60% marks (general candidates), are eligible to apply for IAT 2025. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Person with Disability (PwD) categories, the minimum score requirement is 55% to apply for IAT 2025
  3. Applicants with Indian citizenship, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply for the IISER IAT 2025.

Admission Channels

  1. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Channel
  2. Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology Channel
  3. IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) Channel
  4. IAT Channel:Candidates seeking admission through this channel must appear for a computer-based IISER Aptitude Test(IAT-2023).
  5. IAT-2023 will be conducted on Saturday, June 17, 2025at 9:00 AM, at various centres across the country.
  6. KVPY Channel:The KVPY-SA-2021 students who have received the provisional KVPY fellowship award are eligible to apply for admissions.
  7. Candidates in the extended KVPY merit list are not eligible.
  8. Candidates seeking admission under this channel do not have to appear for IAT-2025.
  9. JEE Channel:Candidates seeking admission under JEE channel should have qualified in the JEE (Advanced) in the year 2023, AND should have a rank within 15000 in the common rank list or in the respective category rank lists (GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD).
  10. Those who qualified JEE (Advanced) in any year other than 2023 are not eligible.
  11. Candidates with JEE (Advanced) preparatory ranks are not eligible.
  12. Candidates seeking admission under this channel do not have to appear for IAT-2025.

MARKS PATTERN:

  1. Total time for answering the test will be 180 minutes. Questions will be of multiple choice type with only one correct answer.
  2. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks.
  3. Each incorrect answer will lead to the deduction of 1 mark.
  4. Unanswered questions will be awarded 0 mark.
  5. Therefore, Maximum marks in IAT will be 240.
  6. The total marks obtained by a candidate out of 240 will be considered for preparing the Rank List.

Documents Required for IISER application form 2025

  1. Class X certificate
  2. Class XII (or equivalent examination).
  3. If the class XII (or equivalent) marks sheet is not available now, then you can instead upload a signed declaration form - “DECLARATION BY THE CANDIDATE IN LIEU OF ELIGIBILITY EXAM CERTIFICATE/ MARKSHEET” (see Downloads section). Fill up the form, sign it, scan it and then upload. The scanned copies of the actual marks sheet must be uploaded on or before 7th July 2025failing which you will not be allotted a seat in any of the IISERs.

Selecting IISERs during online application

  1. At the time of online application, a candidate will be shown 9 programs across 7 IISERs (OR 7 programs across 7 IISERs if the candidate did not have Mathematics as a subject in class XII (or equivalent) and is not eligible for BS (Economic  Sciences) and BS (Engineering Sciences)).
  2. Candidate is required to make a preference list from among these programs for which the candidate wants to be considered for an admission.
  3. The preference order must be from the most preferred (first preference) to the least preferred (last preference).
  4. The preference list must contain at least one IISER program.
  5. A candidate will be considered ONLY to those IISER programs which are in the candidate preference list. Consequently, a candidate will not be considered for an admission to an IISER program that is not mentioned in the candidate’s preference list.

How to Apply:

  2. Registration link on the website and create an account
  3. Log in to your account and fill in the online application form
  4. Upload the necessary documents
  5. Pay the application fee using the available online payment options
  6. After filling in all the required details and uploading the documents, submit the application form.
  7. After successful submission, download and print the confirmation page for your records.

Application Fee:

  1. Rs.2,000/- for candidates applying under General, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories.
  2. Rs.1,000/- for candidates applying under persons with disabilities, persons registered as Kashmiri migrants and SC/ST category.
  3. Rs. 8,500/- for foreign nationals.
  4. Application fee is non-refundable
  5. Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF)
  6. Seat Acceptance Fee is to be paid only after an offer of admission has been made to the candidate. The SAF will have to be paid as per the category entered by the candidate in the application.
  7. Rs. 35,000/- (Rs.25,000/- + Rs. 10,000/- (Non refundable administrative fee)) for General/EWS/OBC-NCL categories
  8. Rs.17,500/- (Rs.12,500/- + Rs. 5000/- (Non refundable administrative fee)) for SC/ST categories.
  9. Failure to deposit the SAF within the stipulated time will result in the cancellation of the o?er. Furthermore, you will not be considered in any subsequent rounds of seat allotment during admission 2025
  10. Once you register in your allotted IISER, this amount will be adjusted against your ?rst semester fee.

Reservation of Seats:

  1. Reservation policies as mandated by Govt. of India will apply.
  2. Scheduled Caste (SC) - 15% of seats.
  3. Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 7.5% of seats.
  4. Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer(OBC-NCL) - 27% of seats.
  5. Persons with Disability (PwD) with at least 40% impairment - 5% of seats (supernumerary).
  6. Kashmiri Migrants — 3 seats per IISER (supernumerary).
  7. Economically Weaker Section(EWS) — up to 10% (as per Government of India Rules).
  8. Note that the EWS/OBC-NCL certificate should have been issued on or after 1 April 2025.
