BEST FACULTY AWARDS 2016

NIT Warangal jointly with Alumni Association honors meritorious faculty for extraordinary contributions to teaching, research and to the student experience of life within the Institution. Faculty from across the institution will be considered. All cadres of faculty are eligible, but preference is usually given to those with professorial titles. The candidate faculty should have a long history with the Institute and have made significant contributions. Their contributions at NIT Warangal are mainly considered for these awards. The following categories of awards will be presented on Teachers Day to be celebrated on 7th September 2016. Any faculty member is eligible to get either a best faculty award or a best researcher award in a given year.

o Best Engineering Faculty Award

o Best Science Faculty Award

Best Researcher Awards (Age: above 40 years i.e. born before 01-01-1976)

o Best Engineering Research Award

o Best Science Research Award

Young Researcher Awards (Age: less than or equal to 40 years i.e. born on or after 01-01-1976)

o Young Engineering Research Award

o Young Science Research Award

1.0 Best Faculty Awards 1.1 Introduction

The Best Faculty Awards are presented annually to outstanding full-time faculty members in recognition of extraordinary contributions to teaching and to the student experience of life within the Institution. The Best Faculty Awards are to recognize faculty who have contributed significantly to the intellectual life of the Institute through their teaching over a long time. Recipients of the award will have demonstrated their excellence as educators over a sustained period of time. All cadres of faculty are eligible, but preference is usually given to those with professorial titles. The Best Faculty Award highlights NITW's commitment to teaching excellence. Although scholarly distinction is the primary qualification, emphasis is placed on the evidence of quality teaching including the directing of graduate research, and service to the institute and academic community.

1.2 Eligibility

Only full-time faculty members with at least ten years of service at NITW, with age above 40 years (i.e. born before 01-01-1976), who currently hold one of the following titles, Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, are eligible. Faculty members are eligible to get this award only once in service at NITW.

1.3 Criteria

Faculty contributions in the following aspects during the last 10 years of service will be taken into account for evaluation. Faculty member, who scores at least 60 marks are only considered for these awards.
