Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences Notification 2025 MBBS and BDS programs – NTRUHS B.Sc Nursing , BPT and B.Sc Paramedical Admission Notification

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS). The university has officially released the admission notification for the 2025-26 academic session for two of its most prestigious undergraduate programs: the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). This notification sets the stage for one of the most competitive and keenly watched admission processes in Andhra Pradesh.

For thousands of aspiring medical and dental students, this marks the beginning of a rigorous and merit-based journey to secure a seat in a government or private medical/dental college affiliated with the university. The process will be conducted meticulously, adhering to the guidelines set by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Dental Council of India (DCI), and the Supreme Court of India.

The Gateway to a Medical Career: Understanding the Programs

  1. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery): This five-and-a-half-year program (including a one-year compulsory rotating internship) is the foundational degree for becoming a doctor. The curriculum is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge of medical sciences, clinical skills, and patient care, preparing graduates to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases.
  2. BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery): This five-year program (including a one-year mandatory internship) focuses on oral health. Students learn about dental anatomy, oral pathology, conservative dentistry, oral surgery, and orthodontics, equipping them to become skilled dental surgeons capable of managing a wide range of dental and oral health issues.

Eligibility Criteria: The Essential Prerequisites

To be eligible for admission, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian National or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
  • Domicile: Must satisfy the local/non-local status requirements as per the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974.
  • Academic Qualification: Must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as core subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: Must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the PCB subjects (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Backward Classes). This is a crucial benchmark.
  • NEET UG 2025 Qualification: Admission is solely based on the rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET UG) 2025. Candidates must have qualified in the NEET UG 2025 examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
  • Age Limit: The candidate must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2025. The upper age limit is not defined by NTRUHS but is subject to NEET UG rules.

The Admission Process: A Step-by-Step Guide

The entire admission process is centralized and transparent, revolving around the NEET UG rank. Here’s how it typically unfolds:

  1. Qualify NEET UG 2025: The first and most critical step is to appear and secure a qualifying percentile and rank in the NEET UG 2025 exam.
  2. Notification Release: NTRUHS releases this detailed admission notification, specifying dates for registration and counselling.
  3. Online Registration: Eligible candidates must register on the official NTRUHS website (https://ntruhs.ap.nic.in) within the stipulated deadline. This involves filling out an application form, paying a processing fee, and entering NEET UG 2025 details.
  4. Verification of Documents: Candidates, especially those claiming quota benefits, may need to get their original certificates verified at designated help-line centers.
  5. Merit List Publication: The university will publish a state merit list based on the NEET UG 2025 All India Rank (AIR). Separate lists will be prepared for different categories (Open, SC, ST, BC, EWS, etc.).
  6. Web Counselling (Centralized): This is the most crucial phase. Counselling will be conducted online in multiple rounds.
    • Choice Filling: Based on their rank, candidates must carefully fill their preferences for colleges and courses (MBBS/BDS) from the list of participating institutions.
    • Seat Allotment: A computerized algorithm will allot seats based on the candidate’s NEET rank, category, and the choices filled.
    • Result Publication: The seat allotment result for each round will be published online.
  7. Reporting to the Allotted College: Candidates who are allotted a seat must download the allotment letter, pay the tuition fee, and report to the allotted college within the specified dates with all original documents for physical verification. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the seat.

Seat Matrix and Reservation

The total number of available MBBS and BDS seats will be announced before counselling. These seats are distributed across:

  • Government Medical/Dental Colleges
  • Private Medical/Dental Colleges
  • Minority Institutions

Seats are reserved as per the Government of Andhra Pradesh norms for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Persons with Disability (PwD), and other special categories.

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) has officially released its much-anticipated admission notification for the upcoming academic session. The university is inviting applications for its flagship undergraduate programs: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing), Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), and various Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Paramedical courses.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing): This four-year program is designed for individuals with a passion for patient care. Nursing is the backbone of the healthcare system, and this course equips students with the knowledge and clinical skills to provide holistic care. Graduates have opportunities in hospitals, community health centers, abroad, and in specialized care units. The curriculum includes intensive theoretical learning and mandatory internships for hands-on experience.

  1. Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT): A four-and-a-half-year program (including a six-month compulsory internship), the BPT degree focuses on restoring movement and function affected by injury, illness, or disability. Students learn techniques like exercise therapy, electrotherapy, and manual therapy. With a growing emphasis on rehabilitation and preventive care, physiotherapists are in high demand in hospitals, sports clinics, rehabilitation centers, and private practice.
  2. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Paramedical Courses: This umbrella term covers several critical specializations, typically of three years’ duration. These courses are the backbone of diagnostic and therapeutic services. Options often include:
    • B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)
    • B.Sc in Radiology & Imaging Technology
    • B.Sc in Optometry
    • B.Sc in Dialysis Therapy
    • B.Sc in Cardiac Care Technology
Paramedicals are the unsung heroes of healthcare, providing the essential data and technical support that doctors rely on for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
