ASCI Guidelines For Online Gaming And Fantasy Sports Were Issued:
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) has released a consultation requiring all private television broadcasters to follow the guidelines on online gaming, fantasy sports and other ads issued by the ASCI (Advertising Standards Council of India). The Ministry advises that any practises prohibited by statute or legislation should not be promoted by advertising.
Highlights:
♦ The I&B Ministry claims that a large number of commercials have appeared on TV related to video gaming and fantasy sports.
♦ Some individuals are worried that this form of advertisement tends to be misleading, does not adequately disclose to clients the financial and other risks associated with it, and does not completely comply with the advertising rules set out in the Cable Television Network (Management) Act of 1995 and the Consumer Protection Act of 2019.
♦ This announcement was therefore released to "protect the interests of consumers."
ASCI guidelines:

♦ Not less than 20 percent of the whole print advertising should be the disclaimer.
♦ Audiovisual and audio commercials must also include a disclaimer.
♦ After the commercial, the disclaimer should be positioned and must be in the same language as the advertisement.
♦ The rules stipulate that no person under the age of 18 playing online games and earning real money should be represented by any game ads, and that person is not even recommended to play these games.
♦ The rules state that any person who even appears to be under the age of 18 should not be portrayed in such advertisements.
♦ Ads does not portray winning as sales opportunities or alternate job choices in online games.
♦ Ads do not mean that individuals are more popular than those who make money from online games.
AYUSH Export Promotion Council Was Established:
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Ministry of AYUSH agreed to create the AYUSH Export Promotion Council.
Highlights:
♦ To promote AYUSH`s exports, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and the Ministry of AYUSH have agreed to jointly create an Export Promotion Council.
♦ It was also agreed in the joint review of AYUSH trade and industry that the entire AYUSH industry would work together to achieve competitiveness in terms of price and quality in order to promote AYUSH exports.
♦ In the AYUSH Ministry, the proposed AYUSH Export Promotion Council (AEPC) will be housed.
♦ It has been agreed to speed up the HS code standardisation process for AYUSH.
HS Code:
HS stands for Harmonized System, which is an identification code of six digits. It was produced by WCO (World Customs Organization). To clear any product which enters or crosses any international border, customs officers use HS codes.
###ICCR To Promote Yoga Globally:
The Ministry of AYUSH and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has simplified and increased their joint efforts to promote yoga globally.
Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR):
♦ The Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) is an autonomous organization of the Indian government. It was established by MaulanaAbulKalam Azad on April 9, 1950.
♦ ICCR is involved in India`s external cultural relations or cultural diplomacy, through cultural exchange with other countries and their peoples. It is committed to strengthening cultural relations and enhancing mutual understanding.
♦ ICCR is registered as a Society under the "Societies Act " and operates as an independent institution under the administrative control of the Ministry of External Affairs. ICCR is headquartered in Azad Bhavan, New Delhi.
♦ ICCR has institutionalized cooperation with state governments and signed MoU with 17 state governments.
♦ The states those signed an MoU with ICCR are-Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Dammam &Diuu, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Meghalaya, Northeastern Council, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab, Telangana and Rajasthan Jaipur CitizenForum.
♦ The activities of the Council are monitored by its three statutory bodies -General Assembly, Council and Finance Committee. ICCR conducts business through a global network of cultural centres, as well as India`s diplomatic missions and postal overseas networks.
♦ Currently, there are 37 Indian Cultural Centers around the world working closely with the Indian Embassy and led by the directors.
