Chinthala Venkat Reddy from Telangana won Padma Shri in Agriculture field:
Farmer Chinthala Venkat Reddy won the Padma Shri award from Telangana. The awards were announced by the government on 71st Republic Day. He was awarded for attaining an international patent for his technique in soil swapping and soil fertility. He is the first independent farmers in India to win the international patent for the technique.
Chinthala Venkat Reddy:
Chinthala Venkat Reddy entered into farming during the period 1979-80. He is from Alwal in Secunderabad. He has established a research farm in Alwal. Mr.Reddy is the first organic farmer to grow seedless grapes. He used the old method of rejuvenating the topsoil to obtain double crop production, instead of using fertilizers. He has a grape farm at Kundanpally in Keesara. He grows black grapes, rice, wheat, and vegetables.
Padma Shri award:
Padma Shri award is the fourth highest civilian award in India. The award was instituted in 1954. The award recognizes the significant contribution of individuals in various fields including literature, science, arts, education, industry, sports, medicine, social service, and public affairs.
