Karnataka Launches Gruha Lakshmi Digital Marketing Portal

In a major step towards strengthening economic independence and digital inclusion for women, the “Department of Women and Child Development, karnataka "Karnataka” has launched “Gruha Lakshmi Digital Marketing”, a dedicated online portal to promote products made by women entrepreneurs across the state. The initiative aims to connect women-led enterprises with national and global markets through a state-supported digital platform.

Government-Led Initiative for Women Empowerment
The portal has been launched under the guidance of Chief Minister “Siddaramaiah” and Deputy Chief Minister “D. K. Shivakumar”. The initiative is spearheaded by “Lakshmi Hebbalkar”, with “G. Padmavathi” serving as Chairperson of the Karnataka State Women’s Development Corporation. The programme reflects the state’s focus on inclusive growth and women-centric entrepreneurship.

A State-Backed Digital Marketplace
Accessible at gruhalakshmidigital.org, the portal functions as a government-supported e-commerce marketplace. It provides women entrepreneurs, including artisans and small-scale producers, a platform to showcase and sell their products beyond local markets. The initiative is particularly significant for rural women who often lack access to formal marketing channels and digital infrastructure.

Key Features of the Gruha Lakshmi Portal
The portal hosts a diverse range of products made by women entrepreneurs across Karnataka. It focuses on verified sellers, ensuring authenticity and trust for buyers. Designed with a customer-centric interface, the platform aims to provide smooth navigation, secure transactions, and enhanced visibility for women-led businesses, helping them scale operations and improve income sustainability.

Registration Drive for Women Entrepreneurs
The Karnataka government has invited women entrepreneurs across the state to register on the platform. Registration can be completed online through the portal, by approaching District In-charge Officers, or by visiting the Department’s head office. The initiative is expected to strengthen women-led enterprises, enhance market access, and contribute to inclusive economic growth in Karnataka.
