♦ Prior to OROP, ex-servicemen used to claim compensation when they retired, according to the Pay Committee`s decisions.
♦ The most prominent number of OROP recipients is found in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Military personnel who have retired are covered by it until 30 June 2014.
♦ The plan`s implementation focused on the Koshiyari board `s proposal, a 10-part all-party parliamentary board framed under Bhagat Singh Koshiyari `s presidency.
♦ The decision to update the OROP was taken in November 2015 by a submission, the benefit being convincing as of July 2014. This has been a long-standing interest of the nation`s retired servicemen.
♦ Under this Order, military personnel resigned before 30.06.2014 were covered. OROP means that any soldier who resigns in a similar role earns a similar pension, irrespective of his retirement date.
