Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) and Association for the Study of Persianate Societies (ASPS) is organizing a seminar "Revival of Historic Water Management Systems in the Deccan" at Haroon Khan Sherwani Centre for Deccan Studies (HKCDS), MANUU on 1st November 2021, 2.00 pm.
A series of seminars under this theme have been planned in an attempt to explore the significance and possible revival of historic water management systems and techniques in the Deccan. The seminar will focus on historic water management systems.
According to Prof. Salma Ahmed Farooqui, HKCDS and Coordinator Seminar, the programme will be chaired by Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, MANUU and Shri Arvind Kumar, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD), Government of Telangana and Director General, National Institute of Urban Management (NIUM) will be the chief guest. Prof.Sanjay Subodh, Dept. of History, University of Hyderabad, Ms. Kalpana Ramesh, Conservationist, Ms.Vasanta Sobha Turaga, Conservation Architect are the speakers. Mr. Sajjad Shahid, Conservation Consultant & Co-Convener INTACH will deliver expert comments and closing remarks will be delivered by Prof. Shakeel Ahmad, Emeritus Scientist and Professor (AcSIR), CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute.
