The processing of seat allotment for the second round of counselling was held from July 15, 2023, to July 17, 2023. The result of the NEET 2023 second Round of Counselling will be announced on July 18, 2023. The candidates need to report at the Medical/Dental Colleges/Institutions against 2nd Round seat allotment from July 18, 2023, to July 25, 2023. The candidates once joined the allotted seat against NEET 2nd Round are not allowed to vacate the seat.

NEET Second Allotment List 2023 for UG Counselling

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has announced the NEET Counselling 2023 schedule. The online MCC Counselling and Seat Allotment for 15% All India Quota/ Deemed/ Central Universities/ ESIC and AFMC (MBBS/BDS) seats will commence on June 19, 2023. State level NEET counselling will be conducted separately by the respective state authorities.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET Counselling 2023

Candidates must qualify NEET 2023 to be considered eligible for the counselling process. In order to qualify for NEET 2023 exam candidates must secure the minimum required percentile which can be checked in the table given below

  1. Candidates belonging to the state of Jammu and Kashmir will not be eligible to participate in the counselling for 15% All India Quota seats.
  2. It is mandatory to register for the counselling process otherwise candidates will not be considered eligible for NEET 2023 counselling.
  3. Candidates will be required to submit choices in the counselling process to be considered at the time of seat allotment.
  4. Central Universities will have Institutional rules applicable to the certain percentage of seats depending upon the admission policies of the Universities.

Eligibility Criteria:



The Central Board of Secondary Education will prepare an All India Merit List of successful candidates of NEET (UG) – 2023 on the basis of the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India as given in Graduate Medical Education Regulations-1997 issued under Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and BDS Course Regulations, 2007 issued under the Dentists Act, 1948. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
(a) In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test to MBBS/BDS Courses held for the said academic year.
(b) Provided when sufficient number of candidates in the respective categories fail to secure minimum marks as prescribed in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test held for any academic year for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, the Central Government in consultation with Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for candidates belonging to respective categories and marks so lowered by the Central Government shall be applicable for the said academic year only.

THE INTER-SE-MERIT OF CANDIDATES FOR TIE-BREAKING:

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the NEET (UG) - 2023, the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined in order of preference as follows:
  • Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test.
  • Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the Test.
  • Candidates with less number of attempted wrong answers in all the subjects in the Test.
  • Candidates older in age to be preferred.

MERIT LIST FOR COUNSELLING UNDER 15% ALL INDIA QUOTAS

The merit list of the eligible and successful candidates who have opted for 15% All India quota seats will be prepared by the NTA on the basis of score obtained in the NEET (UG) - 2023. The list of successful candidates shall be forwarded to the Directorate General of Health Services (Medical Examination Cell), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for the purpose of allotment of seats by Online Counselling to 15% All India Quota Seats.

MERIT LIST FOR SEATS OTHER THAN 15% ALL INDIA QUOTA

  1. NTA will provide All India Rank. Result will be given to the DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India to provide the same to the Admitting Authorities.
  2. Admitting Authorities will invite applications for Counselling and merit list shall be drawn based on All India Rank by the Admitting Authorities subject to their applicable rules.
  3. The admitting/counselling authorities will draw merit list of the candidates in the respective categories declared by the candidates at the time of applying for admission/counselling based on State rules.

Online counselling would be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services. Information for online counselling would only be available on Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website (www.mcc.nic.in). Qualified candidates are advised to read the counselling related information carefully and understand the course of action to be taken by them for appearing in the Counselling. COUNSELLING AND ADMISSION OTHER THAN 15% ALL INDIA SEATS:

Candidates wishing to apply for admission in State Medical Colleges/Universities/Institutions using merit list of NEET (UG) - 2023 shall follow the instructions of the State Government and/or authorities of the Medical/Dental colleges/Institution/University concerned for counselling.
Counselling for Private Medical Colleges (except Deemed) will be with the respective State Governments.
The admitting/counselling authorities will draw merit list of the candidates in the respective categories declared by the candidates at the time of applying for admission/counselling. The NTA will not make any change in candidates? data after the opportunity for the same is given. In no case, the change of data submitted by candidate in the online application form shall be made by NTA, after declaration of result.
