History of Day

The Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women issued by the UN General Assembly in 1993 defines violence against women. The act of gender-based violence that results in physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life. Several public events are coordinated at the International Day. The Iconic buildings and landmarks will be ‘oranged’ to recall the need for a violence-free future.

National Milk Day was celebrated on 26 November:

National Milk Day is celebrated on 26 November every year in India. The day commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien. The day aims to promote benefits related to milk and milk industry. It also raises awareness among people about the importance of milk and milk products. In 2019, India is celebrating the 98th birth anniversary of Dr. Kurien.
 
History:
 
The day was instituted by the Indian Dairy Association (IDA) in 2014. IDA took the initiative to designate 26 December as the National Milk Day. The United Nations celebrate World Milk Day on 1 June every year. The first National Milk Day was celebrated on 26 November 2014. The day was observed by various milk producers from 22 states fo India.
 
Dr. Verghese Kurien:
Dr. Verghese Kurien is popularly known as the Father of the White Revolution and Milkman of India. The famous Indian social entrepreneur was born on 26 November 1921. He organized the world`s largest agricultural dairy development programme named Operation Flood. In 1964, he was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award. He received Padma Shri in 1965, Padma Bhushan in 1966 and Padma Vibhushan in 1999. He was awarded Food Prize in 1989. In 1997, he received the World Order of Agricultural Merit. His efforts made India`s dairy farming the largest self-sustaining industry and the largest rural employment provider.
 
Constitution Day was observed on 26 November:
 
Constitution Day was observed on 26 November every year. The Constitution day is also known as National Law Day or National Constitution Day or Samvidhan Divas. The celebration in 2019 marked the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. 
 
Aim:
 
The day aims to raise awareness about the Indian Constitution. It also acknowledges the contribution of the framers of the Constitution and aggravates the people regarding the prominent values. It publicizes the rich composite culture and diversity of India. 
 
History:
 
The Constitution of India was adopted on 26 November 2019. And it came to effect only on 26 January 1950. It marked the new era in the history of India. The day creates awareness of Fundamental Duties as enshrined in the Indian Constitution. On 19 November 2015, the BJP-led government declared 26 November as Constitution Day. The first Constitution was observed on 26 November 2015.
 
Celebrations:
 
♦ On this day, the Preamble was read out in the Civil Secretariat.
♦ The J&K people celebrated the Constitution Day for the first time.
♦ Events were organized in New Delhi by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
♦ Seminars, lectures, and many events were organized in schools across India.
