IIIT Hyderabad signed MoU with EBTC to establish a Living Lab:

International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the European Business & Technology Centre (EBTC). The agreement aimed to establish a Living Lab on the institute’s campus. The lab will be set up by the end of 2020. The agreement will seek help from the Amsterdam Innovation Arena program, Netherlands.

Living Lab:

♦ The lab will help startups gather real-time data on urban infrastructure. 

♦ It will help startups to develop Smart Cities products that are on sustainable urban development.

♦ The institute will help the startups to test their products on the campus.

European Business & Technology Centre (EBTC):

EBTC was established in 2008. It is co-funded by the European Union (EN). It is headquartered in New Delhi. It is coordinated by EUROCHAMBRES, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry. It aims to promote European technologies and innovations to suit the local needs in India through various projects, programs, and initiatives by enabling Indo-European collaborations.

Madhya Pradesh to sign MoU to promote IT firms:

Madhya Pradesh State government is to sign an MoU with the National Organization of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) on 17 October. The agreement aims to create more jobs for the youth by promoting investment in information technology, sector. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has approved the proposal. The move has been considered as an important step for the IT sector.

MoU:

The MoU will be signed by Debjani Ghosh, President of NASSCOM. It will be signed in the presence of NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant on 18 October at Indore.

The MoU will set up industries with good investment in the state. Employment opportunities will be provided to the youth through the IT sector.

Madhya Pradesh and NASSCOM:

Madhya Pradesh State government is planning to use technology in governance to expedite the process of approvals, resolve issues, and clear pending work.

The State government, along with Nasscom, is developing a system to provide a solution to the reported online issues by people to startups to get preliminary solutions.

A designated panel will be formed that will come up with solutions to be implemented in governance.

AYUSH, MoD to sign MoU to provide traditional medicine services: 

The Ministry of AYUSH  signed an MoU with the Ministry of Defence to provide traditional medicine services at the hospitals and dispensaries of the armed forces. Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik inaugurated an Ayurveda Palliative Care Unit at the Base Hospital in the Delhi Cantonment on 21 October 2019.

MoU highlights:

  • The MoU aims to support the soldiers who work in challenging environmental conditions right from glaciers of Siachin to the deserts of Thar. The climatic conditions take a toll on their physical as well as mental health. 
  • Ayurveda and yoga will help them to attain the best of physical and mental health. It will also improve the endurance of the soldiers. Ayurvedic medicines and panchakarma procedures are effective in treating work-related musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Under the MoU, AYUSH Ministry will establish Ayurveda units at palliative care centres at the Army Research and Referral Hospital, Air Force Hospital, Hindon in Ghaziabad, and five identified ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) polyclinics in Delhi.
