VP addressed Mary Koms Regional Boxing Foundation in Imphal, Manipur:

Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu addressed the young boxers from Mary Kom’s Regional Boxing Foundation in Imphal, Manipur. The boxers are on a National Interactive Tour organized by the 15 Assam Rifles, in New Delhi on 30 September. The government aims to create the necessary environment for sports to thrive in the country to make India a global sports superpower. 

Government`s efforts and VP`s call:

• The Indian government is taking several efforts, like Khelo India campaign, to improve sports facilities in the country. 
• The campaign aims to identify, encourage and support sporting talent from all corners of the country. It aims to give them first-class infrastructure and training of the highest level.
• Mr.Naidu called the Corporate, philanthropists and eminent sports personalities in India to support the efforts of the government in building sports infrastructure, especially in the northeastern region.

Fraser Pryce and Allyson Felix won gold in World Athletics Championships:

Jamaican sprint queen Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won her fourth 100m crown at the World Athletics Championships 2019 held at Khalifa Stadium, Doha, Qatar. Britain`s Dina Asher-Smith won silver and she clocked a time of 10.83sec. Ivory Coast`s Marie-Josee Ta Lou won bronze by clocking 10.90sec.

Also, the US legend Allyson Felix smashed Usain Bolt`s gold medal record tally as she won gold in the World Athletics Championships 2019. She won 26 medals including 6 Olympic golds and 12 World Championship crowns.
