National Health Authority organizes an event to mark one year of Ayushman Bharat:

National Health Authority is organizing a two-day event to mark the completion of one year of Ayushman Bharat or Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) on 1 October-2 October 2019. The meeting will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Aim:

The purpose of the Arogya Manthan is to provide a platform for all the important stakeholders of PM-JAY. It also aims to meet and discuss the challenges faced while implementing the scheme in the year 2018. It will also forge new understanding and pathways towards improving implementation. In the event, the key recommendations of Arogya Manthan will be presented. 

Highlights:

In the meeting, the Prime Minister will launch a new mobile application of Ayushman Bharat and Ayushman Bharat Start-Up Grand Challenge. 

He will also release a commemorative stamp in the event. 

PM will discuss with the select beneficiaries of the scheme 

The event will witness an exhibition which will showcase the journey of the scheme over the past year.

Ayushman Bharat:

Ayushman Bharat was launched by the Prime Minister on 23 September 2018. It was launched under the Ayushman Bharat Mission of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in India. It aims to make interventions in primary, secondary and tertiary care systems. It will also cover both preventive and promotive health to address healthcare holistically.

The 94th Raising Day of MNS is observed on 1 October:
 
The 94th Raising Day of the Military Nursing Service (MNS) is celebrated on 1 October 2019. On that day, the Nursing officers rededicated themselves to render high quality, selfless nursing care to their patients by reading the Florence Nightingale Pledge on the occasion. 
 
Events:
To mark the day a function was organized at the Army Hospital (Referral & Research). The Chief of the Army Staff was the chief guest of the function.
Also, Additional Director General of MNS Major General Joyce Gladys Roach,  Principal Matron, Army Hospital (Referral & Research) Major General Sonali Ghoshal paid homage to martyrs on National War Memorial on this day.
 
Military Nursing Service:
MNS is the only all-women corps in the Armed Forces. It was established on 28 March 1888. In the first batch, 10 qualified British Nurses were trained in Bombay. MNS aims to organize nursing in Military hospitals in India. For the first time, in 1914, Nurses were enrolled in India. They were attached to QAMNS.
On 15 September 1943, the IMNS officers became a part of the Indian Army and the members of service became Commissioned Officers. 
The selection for the candidates is based on merit at all India level to the Military Nursing Service.  The candidates are enrolled at six Colleges of Nursing for Basic BSc (N) from various health sciences universities. Upon successful completion of the course, the candidates are awarded Permanent or Short Service Commission in the Military Nursing Service in the rank of Lieutenant.

Finance Minister administers Swachhata Pledge to officials of Finance Ministry Single Use Plastics from all spheres of life:

Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman administered the Swachhata Pledge to the officials of the Ministry of Finance, reaffirming the commitment of the Government and Ministry of Finance employees to be facilitators and enablers of this massive campaign to eliminate ‘Single Use Plastics’ both in the official and personal sphere of life.

The `Swachhata Hi Seva` campaign 2019 was held by the Ministry of Finance from 11th September - 2nd October 2019

To create awareness and make India free of  `Single Use Plastics`.

The campaign to make India free of single use plastics from 2nd October 2019, which is the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The resolve in his address to the UN General Assembly on 27th September 2019.

 

The replaced plastic water bottles provided to officials and in meetings with Glass water bottles and Tumblers which are refillable.The replaced plastic folders with recycled paper folders and another environment -friendly and biodegradable material. The minimize usage of disposable plastic cups/plates. The awareness creation among the officials through visitation to office rooms and sections with placards highlighting the negative impact of plastics and encouraging usage of environment-friendly and biodegradable material.
