 1. British Academy Film Awards announced

Film "The Favourite" won seven honours in British Academy Film Awards, BAFTA 2019, in London.
The Favourite won best actress for Olivia Colman and best supporting actress for Rachel Weisz, Outstanding British Film, Original Screenplay, Costume Design, Production Design, Makeup and Hair.
Also, Netflix production `Roma` also had a successful night picking up four prizes - best film, best director, best cinematography and best film not in the English language.
Rami Malek won best actor for playing Freddie Mercury in the film Bohemian Rhapsody.
 
2. 2019 Grammy Awards
 
Kacey Musgraves, Childish Gambino, Cardi B and Qunicy Jones created history in various categories in the 2019 Grammy Awards held late last evening at Staples Center in Los Angeles. 
Country singer Kacey Musgraves won the Abum of the Year award for her record "Golden Hour". Kacey also took home awards for best country album, best country song and best country solo performance. 
Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” won four awards for song of the year, best rap or sung performance, best music video and record of the year. "This Is America", became first rap track to get the award in the history of the Grammys.  
Cardi B became the first woman to win the Best Rap Album Grammy award for her debut `Invasion of Privacy`. Lady Gaga’s “Shallow,” from the movie “A Star Is Born,” won two awards.
Another history maker at the awards this year was veteran record producer Quincy Jones. The 85 year old legend took home 28th Grammy as his documentary "Quincy" won for best music film. In his seven decade long career, Jones has won Grammys in more than 10 categories. "Quincy" is his first in the best music film category. 
Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell was honoured posthumously for his song "When Bad Does Good" in the best rock performance category. Former US President Jimmy Carter won his second Grammy Award for spoken word album for his biography "Faith - A Journey For All". 
The spoken word category includes poetry, audio books, and storytelling. Carter has also become the third-oldest winner in Grammy history. In 2016, Carter, the 39th president of the United States, had won his first Grammy award for his work, "A Full Life: Reflections at 90".
