1) Anjum, India’s first woman to get MCC membership.

• Anjum Chopra becomes the first woman cricketer from India to be awarded an honorary life membership of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan were recently awarded the MCC memberships too.
• The 39-year-old Anjum played 12 Tests, 127 ODIs and 18 T20 Internationals for India. She scored 548 runs in Tests with 4 half centuries while in 50 overs format; she scored 2856 runs with a century and 18 half-centuries.

• Ankur Dhama is the country`s first blind athlete in 30 years to participate at Paralympics this year in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. At the age of six, Ankur became completely blind when he was in Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh.
• The 22-year-old, an MA student at Delhi University, will take part at middle-distance running at the Paralympics with his partner Vipin Kumar, a student of Nagpur University. Both are participated in 1500 meter running event.

3) Lochte banned for 10 months by USOC.

• American swimmer Ryan Lochte has been suspended for 10 months and will miss next year`s world championships for his part in a scandal involving the U.S. athlete and three other swimmers at the Rio Olympics.
• Lochte, who won gold in the 4x200 metres freestyle relay in Rio with his teammates Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, James Feigen are ``over-exaggerated" a tale about being robbed and held at gunpoint after a party during the Rio Olympics.

• In a historic moment for India, Mariyappan Thangavelu won the gold medal while compatriot Varun Singh Bhati clinched the bronze in the men`s high jump event at the Rio Paralympics.

• The 20-year-old Thangavelu made a leap of 1.89m, while Bhati jumped his personal best of 1.86m to finish third. USA`s Sam Grewe bagged the silver medal.

• Pankaj Advani became the first cueist from India to win a medal at the prestigious Sangsom 6 Red Snooker World Championship as he settled for a bronze after losing the semifinal to Chinese Ding Junhui, in Bangkok.
